Every time I see those VZs, I drool. I say, "That's what I'm going to do!"......and then I look back at the ROHs and fall in love all over again. :gr_jest: What do you think looks better? Not in general, but specifically on this color and with the conversion.....I can't decide.... :banghead:

I like the VZ better andthink they fit your plan of the conversion better. At the same time, like anyone knows what a Monaro is when you drive your car around Texas, so I guess it wouldn't matter in that sense.

On YJ? Damn dude. The VZ's wash out, and the black ROH's look incredible. They really add something... an intangible you're not going to get with many other wheels. Drift R's all the way.

Drift R's. The VZ's are nice but they aren't as good as the Drift R's for several reasons, they're too light (color wise), they have no lip, they're not staggered, and they most likely weigh more.

I think what you want is a staggered set of VZs. Well, I can't help you there. *cough*http://www.weldcraftwheels.com*cough* I still prefer the Drift Rs. Black (or other dark wheels) look like they are ready to kick some ass on the street.

On YJ or QS, I prefer the black Drift Rs (silver washes out against yellow and silver). Most everything else, VZs.

Actually, my friend Robert (LS2BlueGoat) used some Zaino product on them and that took all the water spots off and shined it up. Now, all I need to do is use some Mothers Billet Polish and cover it with Zaino again to get the best shine. Shoot him a PM to find the Zaino product he used though....

I Z2 my wheels, keeps the brake dust off and has on my Aurora's chrome rims for 5+ years (though I'm not the Robert HRJ is talking about).

Joe, look at it this way: if you want to do an authentic Monaro conversion, and that's what's most important to you, then you gotta put the VZ's on.

If you want as authentic as possible, but styled to your own tastes, keep the Drift R's. For example, dede's car has the SAP spoiler, which I don't think was ever a Monaro option (Holden by Design, maybe).

I have the CV8-R tails and will probably have the CV8-R rims next spring... may get a CV8-R badge to replace the "5.7" on the right rear... but don't plan to remove my '05 hood or autocross grilles, as my car is my canvas - I'm not trying to do a complete CV8-R conversion.

It's all about what you want to accomplish/what your vision is...

I keep coming back in here to check out the results and I have looked at the pictures again, and it hit me about why i don't like the Drift R's. They look cheap as hell. The way the spokes are designed just looks cheap. VZ's :ftw:

I used dede's car and mine because they are basically the same car visually, but with different wheels.

I really, really like the VZ wheels. But I voted for the Drift Rs, as I think the VZ wheels look a little bland.

If Monaros were a dime a dozen in the US, or the GTO had come with the VZ wheels from the factory, I doubt you'd even be considering running them. :)

One of the things I love about the Drift Rs is that they show off the rotor/caliper better and the spokes simply disappear when the car is rolling. Its cool to roll up beside it and it almost looks like there's no spokes...lol. Just gold rotors and Monaro calipers plain as day.

The VZs look alot easier to keep looking nice. Drift Rs in black are a major PITA to clean.

There are plenty of good looking rims out there that would look great.

If I have to pick from only these two it's the VZ. I don't think the people voting for the Drift Rs realize they are voting on the black, not chrome or polished.
