Looks like an M4 - I dont know much about guns, so I cant tell the differences. Looks sharp though!

Basically it is an M4, but with an 11.5" barrel and slightly smaller diameter handguards (the handguards on the 16" rifle in the last pic are actual M4 handguards). The 6933 is a limited production "shorty" and is defined as a short barrel rifle by the BATFE and the NFA. As such each time one changes hands there is a $200 tax to the federal government associated with it.

Awesome. I really want a good assault rifle but unfortunatly I'm stationed in California and I refuse to buy the folding stock/welded in clip style. Just have to wait till I go back to Colorado. Great purchase!!!!!!

If you look at the 16" rifle you'll see one. They left them off the 6933s for whatever reason, but it works out good for me because it would only get in the way of the silencer I want to mount.:burnout:

ahhhh I REALLY want one like that....that's SWEET!
I've got a Bushmaster M4A2 that's very similar, but I'm restricted to a 16" barrel and a retractable stock that doesn't retract....
I've wanted to do that Commando barrel and a legit collapsing stock, but it's not exactly legal here. :bomb: It would be a hell of a lot of fun at my local range though, which is relatively short range and intended mostly for pistol fire.
anyone wanna ship some pre-ban stuff to NY? :gr_devil:
j/k....but not really....:p

Very nice. I have a Colt LE6920..love the thing. To bad I have to try to get rid of it to pay some medical bills. Got to love changing jobs and being hit for pre-existing cause they make Cobra so damn expensive. My fault though....
My buddy just got a HK Compact Tactical...and has 39 more days until his silencer gets here.

is there any law against using post-post ban (as in after the expiration) parts (like a collapsible stock) on a post-ban (as in during the ban) M4?

Nope. Once the ban sunset you could take your neutered "ban era" gun and install whatever banned parts you want to. I did it on a couple of rifles I owned at the time (not these).

Well I think that's pretty great, myself.
I don't own any guns yet, but that one you showed would be nice.
Is it fully auto?
And can you now own a .50 cal rifle, too?
Cool_Hand_Luke
09-20-2006, 04:09 AM
That gun isn't an auto fire. can be made to though.
You could own a .50 cal auto before. My brother had 5 plus a quite a few .30 cal in 308 and 30-06.
you just had to have the cash for the gun and the tax. (background check)
Living in California, you must know how uneducated people are about firearms. Many guns are mislabeled as "assault weapons". California doesn't like very much the 2nd amendment or the right to defend yourself.

"it can be made to" is both correct and incorrect. If you mean simply installing M16 parts that you buy at a gunshow, then no it cannot. Colt, as well as most other makers, manufacture their commercial and LE lowers with a "shelf" that prevents the installation of M16 parts. Additionally, it is illegal to install M16 fire control parts in an AR15.
You can, however, buy a Drop in Auto Sear (DIAS) for around $8k +/- and install that making the rifle function as a full auto. There is a $200 BATFE tax associated with the purchase of a DIAS and it may require machining out the "shelf".
It is also possible to buy an actual M16. Last time I checked the prices for M16s were in the $12-15K range, plus the $200 tax.
I have fired full auto, and several people at the monthly rifle matches I run have tried to shoot FA in the match. It has proven to be entirely useless for anything other than suppressing fire, and even that is debatable. Then of course is the question of when a civilian would ever need suppressing fire and how you'd explain that one to a judge.
Full Auto is "fun" for alot of people, and the prices for the guns never go down so some view them as an investment as well. While one could spend $15k upgrading their GTO they would likely only see maybe $5k of that back when they sell the car in 5 years. If you bought an M16 now for $15k you very well could see $20k+ if you sold it in 5 years.
The .50s are still legal in every state that I know of (I don't know about California now) but are both expensive to buy and expensive to shoot. They are also only really any fun at 600+ yards and most people don't have access to 600 yard ranges.
Some people collect, and some people shoot. I personally shoot and try to keep the collecting to a minimum. I have seen guys buy 10 different AR15s and had every single one of them be garbage. They could have bought a couple of very nice Colts for the same money. Quality, not quantity.
Very nice but mount the optic back farther and it makes you more accurate for quick reaction drills...my 2 cents.

I actually find the opposite to be true. I find that running it farther forward reduces the overall obstruction to my field of view and allows the optic body to disapear when shooting with both eyes open.

Beautiful gun. I went the drop-in sear route back when they could be had for a lot less. I don't know why I even look at what they're worth now. I love the thing and wouldn't part with it. It was hard to find a registered one even then and it's cool to be able to say "oh yea I got a machine gun, doesn't everyone" I really like the new multi rails/ hand guard they have now. I've been holding off but will switch mine out this year and upgrade to some decent optics.

Sweet jesus that's a lovely gun. :) Get the forward grip and you'll be set.
Three cool gun sites where you can find good deals and info:

Oh yeah I bought the domain name, matchgrade.com which hopefully I can sell for some cash one day. :)
My fantasy gun is a .308 carbine either of FN/FAL design or the new SCAR-H SOF weapon also by FN.
Anyone know of any other designs or good deals for a .308 carbine (16 inch barrel, collapsable stock, etc?)

Try a CETME by Century Arms for under $400.00 brand new which shoots the .308.

Yeah the only use for a pistol .308 gun that I can think of is for Bodyguard VIP protection. Imagine having one of those strapped inside your suit jacket. :)
Talk about close quarter's firepower that's relatively easy to conceal. Thanks for the century arms link, I'll check it out.

Here is my long distance rifle: Remington 700 Police in .308, lightened and tightened trigger, SS10X scope, Badger rings...
