In the quest to make a good product even better, we have redone the tubes on our drivers side header to make even more clerance on the steering rack. We moved the tubes up as high as possible and still allow room to have the header not hit the floor when it moves. We never had an issue on our shop car, which we put over 2K miles on, nor have we had any issues with any customer cars.

We are also open to making a 1 7/8" header, although I believe that it will be very tight around the steering shaft, and unless you are doing a big cube motor, or making well over 500 HP, it is overkill. How much interest is ther in us doing this-obviously demand will drive what we are doing as far as development.

Our headers now provide the BEST ground clearance and clearance to the rack available. From reading other posts, I would have to see it to believe it to see how another header can clear the rack by "inches", unless it is a shorty. There is physically not enough room.

As always our headers have a lifetime warranty and come with 3" lead pipes and high flow random technology converters.

As always, thanks for your business!

You will have my business as soon as my '05 hits. If I were to buy your headers w/cats, would the SLP Powerflo set-up bolt straight up to it? I know it's difficult to say since SLP hasn't yet offered the '05 cat back setup, but on '04's is this how it works? I've done a few searches and have not able to find a satisactory answer. Thanks

SW is the way to go.
:hail:

Speaking of the 05 GTO. Al, is SW planning on getting a 05 GTO to fab up a catback and headers or are you gonna wait for a 05 owner to bring in there car ? I may know of someone who would be interested in jumping in to buy the project car off you with a full exhaust setup.

As for the headers i really can't see anyone being able to avoid the steering rack boot with a LT setup. I'm putting miles on my setup and zero issues at all. Thats with daily idling in rush hour and the not so occasional full throttle blast to ludicrous speed.

I think the 05 is going to require some re-work if the exhaust is set up per the photos I've seen so far. I suspect they will be looking for a donor car when the new ones hit.

I realize that the inches thing seems impossible. Thats just what I was told. Are the RT cats ceramic or metal matrix?

How can we be assured when purchasing a set that it is the updated version?

Hi Guys

We will be fitting an '05 car as soon as we can locate one, but we will nopt be buying one. If anyone know someone getting one, let us know and we will cut them a smoking deal on the headers/exhaust.

We are [planning for the '05 cars to be the same way we did the '04 cars-you can use our headers with stock or any aftermarket exhaust-as long as the system is joined the same way or we can split it we will again do it that way.

Thanks

Al: How many hours should it take a competent mechanic to put in your long tube headers? Can you recommend anyone near the Denver, CO area? Thanks...Jason

Hey Jason, not sure if you are aware of the Denver area GTO happens. I did my own headers about a month ago, some work but not impossible.

FYI-recently I put SW headers on a GTO and at the same time put Kooks on another GTO so I could litterally compare apples to apples. Both cars did not have Cats.

Now for fit-the Kooks had more clearance around the rack and alot better clearance over the rack. The SW's had a clearance problem at the rack whick involved cutting/grinding the rack bolt.I also like the way the Kook's connect to the Y-pipe that created a much better seal,SW's had these band clamps that just wouldn't seal.

So in my mind the SW's need some attention which it looks like was done for the header, now if you can rework the Y-pipe for a better seal the headers will be sweet.

BTW-The build quality of the headers were great :)

I'm an incompetent mechanic and i took 12 hours with two bad eyes at the time, a competent guy with normal vision could do it in four to six

Also anyone with pic of SW LTs with cats please post them, I'm thing of adding a set of cats to my car.

Thanls for the pics Adam. Are your rear O2 sensors hooked up?, If so, is your check engine light illuminated?

Rear o2s are real and on. I didn't have to do them, but didn't mind having some way to know my cats are still alive.

Jason FYI the headers should only take about 3 hours on a lift rack the right side is very easy. The left side is harder due to the rac and steering coupler also remember to get you two o2 sensor jumpers about 10 inches due to the o2 location in the headers and I realy like the stainless works headers very nice headers. hope this helps you out

Hi Guys

We have shipped a partial order to Speed Inc late last week-your orders should begin to ship as soon as they reship them.

We also will have 4 more sets to go out to Speed Inc. tomorrow.

All of the headers we have shipped since mid February are the "new" design with better rack clearance.

Thanks for your business-we still need a 2005 car!!!!

Thanks
