Nitto NT555 285 / 40.. will they fit on a stock 18 without rubbing?

a friend of mine has two 285's brand new with 2 245's in the front that he needs to get rid of, the price he's giving me is astonishing. will these even fit or am i going to be rubbing like hell?

That tire is to big for a 8 inch wide rim.

The height of the tire will make them rub. You'd need a 275/35/18. Also, it is better to use either the 275 or 285 on a 9" rim. You could get away with putting either on an 8.5" wheel.

i got 285/30/18 in without rubbing but 40's will rub the 30's almoct did under load....wont work definitly....jorge

i have 245's and i have very little room left .. i cant imagine any bigger without rubbing.
