Bought 235/55-17s for my 06, Dunlop M3, did some measuring and they seem like they will fit. Anybody run tires this large.

I am not sure if they will fit, but with 17s your middle measurement should be 45, not 55. Your speed reading will be way off!

They are strickly snow tires, 8 weeks a year max and I did not want low profile tires

actually your not going to be off that much in the speedo department...without donig the math, id say less than 5mph. Not that big of a deal really.

If you are going from the 18's down to 17's that would actually be the proper size to keep overall tire diamter correct.

235/55R17

235 = Section Width
55 = Sidewall Ratio (height)
R17 = Rim size

So he is getting a skinnier, taller tire.

The tire may be less than .5" narrower but 1.5" taller than the stock 17s according to this:

Let us know if they fit.

You'd probably be better off with a 235 50 17 (only 1/2" taller than a stock sized 245 45 17 blizzack snow tire.) I really doubt a 27" tire wont give you problems, especially up front. Its gotta be hitting strut.no?

Incorrect. Factory 18s (235/40-18) are 25.4" OD. The 17s (245/45-17) are 25.7". The 235/55-17 tire is 27.2".

On the back should be fine and we know you don't want snow tires on the front but they would rub the strut any way.
BTW what is snow?

Anyone? Don't mean to be PITA but I've got a great deal on some Blizzaks in this size that I don't want to slip away. Thanks.
