I've track and auto-x with much lighter cars, but I have no experiences with a 3,800lb GTO. Which tire do you guys use for track and Auto-X with good results?
I am thinking about Kumho V700 or Falken Azenis Sport, and have them heat treated for $15 each.
I am also considering larger size tire, but don't know if 275-40/17 will fit the rear or not. thanks !!

Kumho VictoRacer 255/40/17 may be the biggest you can fit... 245/45/17's definitely fit...
I heard 275's fit in the rear... but not in the front!
Kumho is the way to go! ;)

I previously ran the Kumho V710's on my '04 Mach 1, that I won Nationals in this year.
I don't have a GTO yet... and based on the T2 classing... we may end up trying something else along with the Camaro.
On the Z28 I run V710's as well! The VictoRacer is the best 'Economical' tire... and the 710 is the best all out race tire.
IMO.
Peace!

Where are you guys finding the Kuhmos...I have not found a good source that says they will have any?

My vote is also for the Kumho tires. I ran Ecsta V700s on my Miata. Did most of what I wanted. The V710 SHOULD be better. It looks like a race slick w/2 grooves cut into them for DOT legality. I say should be better because I have never ran them. If Kumho makes a P255/40/17, that should do for track/auto-x duty. Slightly wider footprint, slightly lower sidewall for less flex, & it's grippy rubber compound had me hooked. No pun intended.
I got my tires from Tire Rack. You say you can't find anyone that has them. If Tire Rack doesn't have them, we are in deep sh*t.
