thinking about the black AZA Z-2s on my QSM

wanted to get 18x8.5 - 5x120 - 38offset all the way around...

question is, 38offset... 2away from the typical 40... will they rub?

I've talked to snafu about it a bit today, he thinks they will probably be ok, but can't garantee it because they never tested 38offset, only 40 (z-1s)

anyone happen to be running this size? is it too close to call?

if you havent picked up on it yet, im trying to stay away from rolling my fenders...

help?
thx

Should be fine in the front, not too sure how that's going to work for you out back though. I'm thinking +38 with an 8.5 inch wide wheel is going to rub in the rear for sure.

I've got 19x8.5's w/38mm offset in the front and rear, only 235's though and they only rub against the lip slightly on a hard launch. Should work fine. Hasn't caused any tire damage yet and they've been on for close to a year.

hrm

19x8.5 38mm offset in back with slight rub
=
18x8.5 38mm offset in back with no rub

safe assumption? I know im kinda beating a dead horse here, its just that rub seems to run rampant with our cars...

would hate to spend 1500 on wheels/tires to end up with cut tires

Why not just roll the fenders then?

because ive heard the horror stories of trying to do it yourself...

that and shops either refuse to do it, or they charge way too much

the more this wheel search drags on, the more i think i will probably end up renting that tool from snafu... that or asking around on the local forums ...

Like you said, renting the tool to roll your fenders is the best bet. Some shops will do it, you just need to find the right one.
