I have had these on my daily driver for 2 years without incident.... until today. Doh!

The good news is it only took me an hour to fix it like new. Fortunately the scraping only roughed up the lip. I was able to start with fine emery paper and work my way down to 600 wet, then polish with drill mounted buffer, finish with metal polish..... like new.

I will never complain about having polished rims again, if these had a finish of any type on them the outcome would have been expensive or lengthy.

Whew!

Nice work! It can be pricey ($150+) to fix any damage on a rim...

Everyone scrapes a rim sooner or later, it's very common. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Pics?

Too freaked out, just wanted to fix it. It was about 12 inches long and between 1/4 and 1/2 in tall. Looked nasty. If I took a pic now you could not tell you have to feel for a slight change in surface.

my right front lip was dinged... it had to be durring shipping or before because I didn't park on the street before I noticed it, my garage or a parking lot only... I didn't notice it until after it was installed for a week (guess I was excited)

Good thing it is so minor you can see it unless your face is within inches of it...Ie cleaning the wheel.
