thats stupid. people should be FREE to have or NOT have a firearm if they so choose. this kind of moronic legislation is just the "ammunition" liberal wankers need to go "see look, they're all lunatics!"

Congress shall make no law infringing on the right to bear arms...

But courts and states can hammer away.

The Constitution was a good start.

Too bad they didn't polish it up more.

Check out Kennesaw, GA. The law has been an overwhelming success there. It has one of the lowest crime rates in the nation and no problems with shootings ether.

I am all for having guns and protecting your private property, i.e. home from intruders, but I do not believe that EVERYONE should own a gun. There are many people that are uncomfortable around guns and I sure as hell wouldn't want them handling one around me.

It's a 400 person town and probably has nothing around it. Chances are most of the residents already own a gun. There is probably only a couple of police officers there so it would make sense for everyone to own a gun to denfend themselves from the crazy city folks.

They would probably do without police. I may retire there.

Bear in mind Switzerland does the same thing. Every man over the age of 18 is required to maintain a rifle and ammo. That is their military.

I believe Israel does something similar.

Umm, liberal "wankers" dream up all the "ammunition" they need everyday. Maybe, I know I'm out on a limb here, it would be cool if a town outlawed smoking in public AND passed a mandatory gun ownership law. That would be fun to watch.

Even the most adamant pro-gunners should realize and agree that there is a huge number of people who really have no business handling or owning firearms. Not that I would ever deny their right to own if they chose but I'd never support a law forcing it on them. That's just asking for trouble in this country.

Yes most of them already own a gun, and yes there is only 1 full time officer and only a few part time officers ( I work with one of them). The law was also shot down by the townspeople.
