Anyone have issues with these tires and getting the tire pressures correct for wear?
The center is wearing out much more quickly than the outsides on all 4 tires. I have decreased the tire pressure from 32 in 1lb increments down to 28 trying to solve the problem. Anything less than 28 and the car feels mushy and to be honest I don't like anyting less than 30.

You're not going to notice a difference in your wear pattern very quickly. It may take a full 6K mile rotation in order to know if your tires are wearing more correctly. I personally don't like using Cooper (or Mastercraft--Cooper owns them) for my high performance tire needs. I had my first (and only) pair of 275/35/18 begin to separate where the tread & sidewalls meet. :eek2:

Actually, I've had them about 13k miles and started noticing uneven wear at around 3k, so I dropped the pressure. Another 3k and the middle is still wearing faster, so drop again and so on and so on. They've been rotated 3 times.
The middle is almost completely gone now and I'm running 30lbs the last 3k. The outsides look perfect.
I talked with the shop that sold me the tires and they insist that I'm running too high of a pressure. Kinda hard to argue that without proof.
Just was wondering if it was a tire design issue that others have seen.

It is not just you...mine have worn the same exact way. At 18K miles on them I am almost down to the wear bars in the center, but the outside still looks good.
I must agree with sccaGTO,Cooper is not durable, I had 4 almost new tires seperate the sidewall belts over about 6 months. First two then later 2 more on my GTP, ZENON I believe was the model, I dont remember for sure cause after fighting the dealer over 4 tires I said no more Coopers for me,I would worry that if you try to run at a lower pressure to get more wear that you risk sidewall seperation, watch these tires carefully, and when you replace I would move up to a higher quality tire company..

Yeah, I've only had one other set of coopers years ago on my s-10 and they were great tires.. . oh well. Definetly not getting another set though.
Maybe I can get a pro - rate on them if discount tire plays nice.

I have 11k on mine and I've had no problems with mine. I run mine at 34 lbs. I rotate my tires every 3000 miles as these are a 280 AA tire and you will wear the rears down too fast. I don't expect a 280 AA tire to last on our cars more than 12 to 13k unless you really baby the car. If that is the case I would look at a 300 or 320 AA tire. I do not take it easy on my tires!
