$19,000 and its yours.

15 thousand and some odd miles on the car, and twenty something thousand spent on mods. The work has been done over time, in Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia and so the car has seen more time in the shop getting mod after mod done over the last couple years than it has on the road. Ive got most recipts.

It's currently in the shop now due to a mysterious CEL Code 101 and I've just gotten tired of it. This code is a MAF related code but the MAF is fine so I don't know why it's throwing. This is the stuff I've gotten tired of dealing with and I'm selling it at a discount to move it. I don't know what's wrong, but I've run out of patience. The car idles and runs great, pulls hard, etc, just cant shake the code.

So, for $19k (Which is what I owe on it) it's yours with all of the mods and what not thrown in, as well as the headaches. The car ran mid 12s on pump gas and nittos before all of the work and should be low 12s now. You can see a bunch of stuff here.

If you buy the car before the part out, you get the Heads and Cam & valvetrain Motor, the rims and tires, brakes and suspension, drivetrain, all of it. The motor is great, passes the smoke machine test, and specs out fine, I had it all measured at the machine shp when it was being reassembled. I just reassembed with a better valvetrain and some more head work. Kept stock internals, as they are 100% fine. The clutch is an LS7 with a couple thousand miles at most and NO passes on it, same with the 3.5" driveshaft. The 3.91s havebeen in ther close to 10k miles. You'll get whatever parts I have laying around, including another set of gauges, all the stereo stuff, a set of bigger injectors, the stock head unit and wing, a spare PCM, the stock (and good shape) clutch, the stock hood if you want it and whatever else I've got. Blah, blah, blah, you get the picture. Most of the stuff is practically new.

Here is a fairly up to date list of the mods so far.

The list of mods below is mostly up to date, but I stipped tracking stuff once the car went down this last time.

Oh, and as you'd imagine, it's unlikely that any dealership will touch the car, unless it's TOTALLY unrelated to the engine, transmission, suspension, etc. Might fix a broken power seat motor, or window motor, that's about it.

Sounds like a steal! Sorry to hear you are getting tired of the car. I knew that mods rarely add much to resale value but didn't think they would add zero value. Your car should sell quickly at that price!

you do realize that a 20 dollar part may be the culprit of this whole thing?

Did you find out what is causing the CEL?

The car is running fine now. We went back to stock injectors, which is all I really needed anyway, and the stock manifold, and the car runs great. The damn code 101 is still there, and I have no idea why but by all accounts, the car is just fine. So, any prospective buyer is getting a car that runs fine, with a mystery code that you can ignore, or make your own attempt to troubleshoot. I am about to return PMs.

Oh ,and never been hit and never been wrecked. Hood is aftermarket Gravana and the only paint work was becuase I went spoilerless and repainted teh rear deck after covering the holes. Clean carfax.

Stepuptata, I tried sending you a PM but you have them blcoked. How would you lke to communicate?

The car is still for sale as now, runs great, idles fine, pulls hard, sounds mean, and is in respects fine, with the exception of what is now a mystery Check Engine Light code 101. The car is fine, and the source of the CEL is unknown, but does not appear to be leading to any problems.

stepuptata, I just sent you an email.

All other PMs replied to as well.

Shift_Grind, I think you can deactiveate the CEL alltogether, or pull the bulb, which might be the way to go. I don't know about eliminating just one code. Not sure but I don't think you can do that, at least not with the software my tuner used.

Looks like I am pretty close to a good faith sale agreement. The final stages appear to be in the works now, having to do with teh where and the whens so if you have an interest, might be time to give me a call.

All I can say is...wow. Good luck my man, me thinks money isn't an issue for you, so someone is getting a great deal or...oh well, good luck to everyone involved on this one.

On the contrary, money is the principle reason I am selling this car. I owe pretty much the exact price that I am attempting to sell the car for. All I want is to get out from under this car. If I owed less, I would be seling for even less to make this go faster and easier. Am I walking away from money? Hell yeah I am. I've sunken a lot of money into this and many other cars that I'll never see again. Speed can be a horrible hooby/ passion/ addiction and it's made even worse when you run into unsolvable problems, blow motors, buy cars that were sold with undiscolsed problems or simply have cars stolen, all of which have happened to me. Still, I've given up trying to deny the fact that this is just part of who I am. I wish I could be happy in a ten year old station wagon but I just can't. I've tried.

Man, I wish I could have heard those words a long time ago.

As far as what's next, I've got an 05-07 S4 in my sights, although a lot would have to happen for me to be able to pull it off. Not nearly the speed deamon that the GTO is and sadly it's just as heavy, but then again there's nothing like the GTO out there for value and power out there and since I'm ruined as far as GTOs go right now, I need to try something different. At least that's the plan for now. I'm such an idiot I could see myself windin up in another modified, warrenty voided, money pit down the road. Must be a self hate thing.

1,220 Views, dozens of PMs and emails, even a few lowball offers and at last....

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought I'd be so happy to watch the former car of my dreams ship off in a deal that will leave me with empty pockets and nothing left to show, but it's happened. I guess it's the old 'thank you sir may i have another' syndrome...

sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold, sold.

Ok I'm done we all get the point.
