Would 235/40r18 and 255/40r18 mess up the ABS with a dia of 25.3 for the 235 and 26 for the 255.? I searched and it appear that the 255/40 will fit the stock 18x8 rim. 235 Bridgestone stock tires come pretty close to the strut up front so increasing the fronts more might cause rub. Anyone running this stagger sucessfully?
I know old school 235/60r15 ft and 255/60r15 rr looked good without being too much.
Thanks for input...

Thanks, the Bridgestones DO blow. It seems the 255's won't rub in the back, I just wasn't sure about the diameter difference. Have you tried 245/40 BFG up front, it looks like the front is tight on space.

so 255's wont rub out back ???? Is this no rolled ???? Also does it matter on your rim width if it will rub??????

There will be a noticable (not huge) difference in the sidewall height from front to rear and your car may "appear" to be jacked up in the back.

I have 18 x 8 front and rear
235/40 front tires
255/40 rear tires and no rub.
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires
I will mention that specs state a minimum of a 18 x 8.5 rim for 255 tires, but the goodyear dealership said they are ok.
My rims are aftermarket but size and offset are in perfect spec with the factory rims. I did it that way because all the messing around with hub rings and shaking over 85 was not a option for me.

i was wondering the same thing, i just jacked up one of my rims and instead of replacing one tire. I want to replace two and put some 255/40r18 in the rear on the stock 18's. Let's see some bigger pics ramzilla.

You could also do 255/35/18 in the rear. Instead of 0.7" taller it would be 0.3" shorter. I know some may not like the look of a shorter tire in the back. The ideal match for the 235/40/18 is a 265/35/18. The problem is 265 is a little wide for the stock rims. It will probably fit but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

Sorry I don't have pics either, still running stock tires all around. I would also like to see some pics of 255/40 or 255/35 on the rear (stock 18's).

I didn't want to go to a smaller diameter as my speedo seemed to be a mile or two fast with the 235/40r18. I have since "up graded" to factory 17" for the winter and the speedo seems on now. I am now contemplating 245/40r18 front with 255/40r18 rear and putting the factory BS potenza's away. Maybe this spring I'll post some pics.

255/40/18 BFG TA kdw2's with no rubbing on the stock 18" wheel? In a different thread, a guy is saying his 255 BFG's rub, but I'm not sure if he is running the stock 18'' wheels. He mentions he has the stock "off set" but doesn't mention having the stock wheels.
Maybe that's the key. You need to have the stock wheels to make the BFG's fit without rubbing?
He also mentions the BFGs run wider than most tires?
