I have been digging and digging and not having much luck....
I have a lot of 17" tires laying around from other vehicles and want to stay with 17" aftermarket wheels.
I am fine with the 245s up front, but NEED to fit a 275 in the rear. When I look on discount tires site or tire rack they don't show crap for what fits...
I will roll the rear lip, but don't want to change the springs or worry about rubbing with passengers in the back seat.
I like the TSWs, but only see 17x8 and they are only in silver. Since my car is silver, I would really like to get a wheel that is charcole or black with the polished or machined lip.
I would like to stay under $1000 for wheels. I only plan to run them in the spring/summer/fall....will throw the stockers on in the winter.
Any suggestions in a 17" combo??? Why couldn't f-body wheels fit perfectly??? I have a bunch of those.
Thanks for the help.

I've been looking for the same thing. About the only ones are Milanos, which I don't really like that much, or some rather expensive customs. Fbody wheels are used by many people here, but don't technically fit the bolt pattern exactly. There are some Milanos for sale on the parts for sale forum for a really good price, and they are pretty good looking wheels, just not what I was looking for.

i went to discount tire and they had me look through a book and see which ones i liked. i spent about an hour there picking out a few. most of them didn't come in 17's even though the book said they did. when the customer service guy called, everyone kept saying "no, they don't come in 17's". it took forever to find a nice looking one. finally i came across these.

they cost me about $900 to get them from discount tire and they look pretty awesome on my car.

But he needs a 17 inch wide enough for a 275 tire.
I found the cray scorpions and was asking about fitment for my car, I also have a QSM and would like black wheels and 275s out back, but I want 18s.
I posted awhile ago about these wheels here (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127 684&highlight=cray), but I never got any answers. They come in 17x9, which would be great for the back, but I doubt a 9" wide wheel would fit up front. If they only made these in a 8" wide wheel i'd be sold on first sight. O and these are f-body bolt pattern, but from reading around I dont think that is a problem.
I was never able to get any answers on the offset, Im pretty sure you would need some kind of spacer for the front, but the back I think would work great.

How about some Voxx Misano's from Discount Tire. 17x8 front and 17x9 rear with 40 offsets for both. 255/40r17 in front and 275/40r17 in rear. Did I mention mine are for sale if a pending buyer falls through?

Guys,
Thanks for the info. What are the milanos?
As for the voxx, not sure if I like them. They are priced right, but rather have a 5 spoke. Also, You have the diff springs in the back. I HAVE to have ZERO clearance issues even with 4 people in the car and a full trunk. I am not going to run bags either. If I can't stuff the wheels into the wheel well and not scrape, then I will stick with smaller tires. I also may be running this car in a few auto cross events and don't want clearance issues rippnig corners or going over any dips in the parking lot.

You may want to check out CCW's then. Also tire compound makes a huge difference in regards to traction and control in corners. You can have a cheap 275 that works for crap and then have a quality 245 or 255 that sticks very well. Have you looked at the AZA wheels yet? Sean from Top Shelf sells them. He's a sponser on the left. To look at the AZA wheels go to wheelmax.com When you do a search for wheels type in that you have a 2002 3-series BMW and more wheels will pop up. Check out this calculator for telling you how much farther out different wheel and tire combos will be: http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp Good luck on your search. I went crazy for a while until I found what I wanted.

Thanks for the info. I am pretty familiar with the diff tires. I auto X and run Kumho V710s on the track and Nitto 555RII on the street on my Z28. Couldn't get used to the lack of traction with street tires anymore.....
I may run a pair of my RIIs in the back in the summer and get some 315s for my Z.... Since I drive the car every day, I am not too concerned with getting the best traction every day on the GTO. Sumitomo has some sticky (180 tred wear) tires that are fairly cheap. I also have some extra 17" left over from the Z and plan on using the stockers until bald.

Milano's are Misano's for people with bad memories. Sorry about that.

I felt the exact same way, wanting to stay with 17's not only to use up existing tires, but to keep a reasonable aspect ratio for our crappy Michigan roads.
I went with Enkei Racing NTO3 wheels. Now there are two things you must be willing to accept to do this. First, they are incredibly light (19 lbs) and relatively inexpensive (approx. $300) BUT they are not the most beautiful wheels I ever saw, and the rears in 17x9.5 only come in a 120.65 bolt pattern. The fronts are 17x8 with a 38 offset in the true 120.00 bolt pattern.
Obviously everyone has their own taste in appearance, and I tend to go with function first and looks second. My friends think they look OK, but not great. However, they say that they look very good while rolling, as that funky strengthening ring seems to disappear. As far as the 120.65 bolt pattern, there are a few of us that have done this with no issues. My car is a daily driver and everytime I check the torque on the lug nuts they are fine. I have had absolutely no loosening in over 10,000 miles.
The offset on the rears is +55 and I had to do some BFH work in just a couple spots on the inner wheel well. I have a sllight rub on the fender lip (not rolled) with 275 BFG KDW's which supposedly are one of the wider tires. I doubt if you would get any lip rub at all with Toyo or Nitto from what I have read on here.
