Long story short, 3 miles with 2 nails in the driver's side rear tire destroyed the inside of the tire. Needless to say, I now need to replace the tire. My hangup is if I should fork out the $ to buy the OEM replacement for 1 tire which my local tire shop is charging $249 for install and everything or spend another $50 or $75 and upgrade both rears to the same size but maybe the Goodyear Eagle F1s or something. I researched getting a wider tire, like a 255 or 265 and they are A LOT more money than the 235 size.

Any comments or opinions?

Should I just buy a Fuzion as a replacement instead of the OEM for like $150 installed?

I'm pretty pissed but need to get a new tire asap. Thanks for the help!

Hey, Well, i never buy used tires now, especialy for a car that can used an inch of rubber in about 3 weeks.

find urself a Used tire barn (www.yellowbook.com search used tires),

Im picking up some 85% tread Michelin pilot sports that retail at 400 each, for 250 the pair. Also, i would upgrade both rear tires to a 255/265

I would say it depends on the condition of the other tires. If you still have good tread left you may as well just get the replacement. But if the other has worn down to the tread bar, than go for something like the BFG KD TA's, a treadwear of 200 I think. Lots more sticky, but with the soft tread goes quicker wear. How many miles do you drive a year?? Weather?? Etc.

I live in cali, great weather not too much rain in LA. I have 7500 miles on the tires and there is plenty of tread left. I was thinking of only replacing the rear 2.

id get a better tire , and go a little wider

depending on the rims(stock) you have now , 17's you can get away with a 275 , 18's 245's

I was thinking the BF Goodrich G Force T/A KWD2 in a 265/35/18 for the rears. Any thoughts?

Do you think I'll have a rubbing problem with that width on my stock 18s?

You could always look in the for sale section people are always trying to get rid oem tires.

265 on a 8 inch rim should be ok, i ran a 255/40/18 on a 7.5 inch rim for ages with no problems. also, u may get a little rub with the 265's on stock rims
