Finish of stock 17s

Does anyone know if the finish is different between 04 and 05 stock 17 inch rims?

I'm in need of one rim and was looking through ebay finding many 04s. I read on one of the auctions that the finish of the 04 17s were slightly different then that of the 05s. Thanks for any help.

ive heard that before too. i'd say make sure u get an 05 take off.

05' are cleared and 04's aren't.

I wish the '04s had clearcoat. The finish scratches so damn easily.

+1 Make sure it's '05~'06 for your clear coat, that's why ebay is loaded with '04 17" wheels.

the factory scratched up the wheels on my 06 , if they are cleared it aint very thick

I bought a 17 on Ebay and it was refinished. Slightly off from original, but within acceptable limits.

Well, I just had to have a wheel replaced on my '04 with a brand new one, and it is quite different in appearance from the others. It looks out of place it's so new. I'll be happy to trade my new wheel with someone who has an '04 wheel that is in good to very good condition. But they'll have to cover all shipping expenses both ways.
