Any of you guys have an H&K 94 or clone?

I'm trying to figure out if I want to drop the coin on a real H&K 94 or get a Bobcat style clone? Any of you guys have either one, or perhaps know WTF I have to do to get Class III weapons legally in Michigan since no one really seems to know for sure LOL I dont mind getting an FFL if I have to but if I dont have to I wont :)

If I can find a clone (like Bobcat) that is basically an exact replica of the 94 i'm ok with it ;)

A class 3 isn't required for a 94. It is semi-auto with a 16" barrel that was sold to civilians in the 80's. A clipped and pinned seared lower will get you in hot water wholesale style. I have ran several thousand rounds through a special weapons sw-5 clone. If you have the scratch for a true German 94, grab one. Some clones are better than others, none are the same as a true German. Also most of the clones used Pakistani parts instead of German. Check out hkpro.com. They will point you in the right direction.

I know the 94 isnt Class III but if I can figure out how to do a transfer easily in MI I'll just get an MP5. I'm not a fan of the long ass barrel either but its nothing a swap cant fix :)

If you get a 94 with the 16" barrel, you could have a machine shop make you a fake suppressor like the sw5fs. That would improve the looks dramatically. Or another option is to find a clone, like the sw5fs and remove the fake can once you get atf approval for a sbr. Underneath the sw5fs can is a 9" 3 lug barrel.

I bought a DOJ HK94 gun last year for $1900 from a local gun shop. It was a little beat up. I sold it to a friend who shoot's frequently, says it's awesome.

The caliber is 9mm. Mags go for about $50 each for HK stuff, the repros are much cheaper.

Yeah I'm trying to find a DOJ gun or a "close to exact as you can get" clone.. I'm guessing new in box 94's are LONG gone at this rate LOL
