used gun question....NJ

What are my options if i want to get a used gun in jersey? I'm guessing a gun store is the only choice. I just want a little toy for fun, a 9mm or something along those lines.

Don't know about The People's Republic of NJ gun laws, BUT I suggest that you forget the 9MM poodle pooper. You want a plinker? In my opinion the best first handgun is .22. There are alot of GOOD .22 handguns; you can have a wheel gun (revolver) or semi-auto, and there are a myriad of makers; Ruger, etc. .22 ammo and the weapon are far more affordable then overpriced 9MM's, and the .22 is alot more fun to shoot. Oh yes. Join the NRA.

Make that "poodle popper", not "pooper", although I don't think there is alot of difference. It's intended as an insult to the weapon and cartridge either way.

hahahahahaha good luck. be prepared to wait a long long time for a pistol.

You need like 3 permits i believe.

IIRC you need a 60 day purchase permit which gives you 60 days to shop and buy a gun.

Then you need another permit to own a pistol

Then you need another to carry, which will never happen unless you are close personal friends with the mayor.

Not to mention there's really no ranges in new jersey.

My suggestion if you want to shoot if drive to PA and rent or buy a shotty and learn skeet

Can't go wrong with an 870 Remington for cost and reliability for trap prolly want an O/U for skeet like a Red Label or similar. Damn Scurvy I had no idea... NJ is WORSE than I thought...I thought the PDRC (People's Demokratic Republic of California) was bad!
