no your right. It wont make a huge difference unless you run your bottles close to empty but I am kinda space limited. Im sure you understand each time you open your trunk also :)

I'm not very knowledgable about nitrous, can it damage the engine? do you have to do other mods? Seems to be more cost effective than supercharger or turbo, true?

According to the J. Lingenfelter LS1 book you can run 100 shot with no mods required. Higher than that you must start changing a few things.

It can damage the engine just like any other mod ie turbo/supercharger if its not installed correctly with all the safety measures intact. Any modification to your car can cause extra wear or potential damage.

Just have to know what your doing and do it safely :)

I have the same kit with the genx 2 upgrade and the msd window switch and NX told me no modes are needed up to 150 shot. Fuel pump can be stock and no need for dyno tune. Tbyrne also told me that and they will be doing my install. I will replace the fuel pump and get it tuned later on when $$$ is available but will run a 75 shot until then
Is there any advice that you would give for this set up seeing you went through it already? This is my first time with the juice. Any advice would be great. Is the hp as advertised?

I put a 150dry on a GTO the other day for shits and giggles... it pulls like a monster... it's an otherwise stock 04 A4.... came with 241 casting heads from the factory too :)

Yeah people are gonna tell me its unsafe etc etc... oh well. Only other mod for the nitrous was NGK TR6 plugs... gapped at .032.

I am doing a wet 150 snot very soon, hopefully next weekend on my stock 04 automatic. I don't know if you need that tight of a gap on the plugs though, probably .038 would suffice, I run .035 on my camaro with a 200 wet shot now.

Doesn't blow out the spark at all??? I know it kinda idles lower with the plugs gapped so close, but I wasn't sure so I gapped em close. I'm gonna pull them and if they're fouled, its time to get another set and gap them to .038 or something similar.

The Mustang or Clayton are usually 3-6% lower then the dynojet. If we add in 5% to SGTs numbers that puts him at about 405rwhp! Not to shabby!

405 to 430 horses (especially with a window switch) may be tough to beat. Set the window switch to come on later in the rpms so he will have decent traction out of the hole and he may be gone!!!

This should be interesting...definitely keep us posted on the results! High Performance Pontiac tested a 125 shot on an otherwise stock '04 and they got 445 hp and 517 tq to the wheels. :hail: :hail: I think the car dyno'd around 294 stock and a lil' over 300 tq...so the 125 jet was actually very underrated!

Reading that got me to thinking...hmmmm...basic bolt-ons (CAI, LT's, catback) with a 125-150 shot plus a dyno tune...that should kick some serious booty! However, I've always been more than a bit apprehensive about running the bottle. Heard a lot of horror stories...but also a lot of success stories as well. Hmmmm....again, please keep us updated! :)

Good luck - Cheers!

Sorry, but this is a little pet peeve of mine.

It is not NOS. The abbreviation for Nitrous is N2O. NOS is a brand name that is produced by Holley.

Looks good, and the install is fairly clean. I used that same bottle bracket on my 02 Formula when I had a TNT kit on it.

I have a question. I have all of the plumbing done for my bottle NX Wet 150HP. I still have to do the electrical side of it. I can't for the life of me figure out where to put the full throttle switch. I need some ideas and a picture if possible. Also, what the hell is a window switch?

I believe nitrodaves is working on a billet WOT switch bracket. On mine somebody just fabricated it. I will see if I can snap some pics.

Nice install and pics.. i think with my install i am going to have a system on switch, a bottle warmer switch, a purge button, and a bottle open switch. damn thats allot of buttons, might have to get me one of these. http://www.speedshop.org/store/Scripts/prodView.as p?idproduct=88

I ran a 12.5 @ 115 mph on a crappy track with everything stock except nitrous and a hoemeade CAI (stock tires, no weight reduction, etc) untuned....after the tune I picked up 20+ rwhp NA, and got my AF ratio from 9-1 to 11.5-1/12.5-1. I imainge I will be bottom 12's at 118 mph...will go back to see in a few weeks.

Dimitri.....don't go putting a lot of buttons in the car, don't need them..I have the two lighted toggle switches just behind the shifter (in front of center console), looks nice and not obtrusive at all...I mounted them in the little removable plastic/rubber piece (two indentations)....I have one to activate the bottle heater and one to activate the nitrous. I have a timing tuner for timing retard and rpm window switch. I didn't use a purge or opener on this car, nice but not necessary and someties more shit to go wrong (have all the bells and whistles on my Camaro's nitorus system, but not really needed).

well i am planning on hiding the swithces, maybe putting them in the arm rest compartment somewhere, the way i want to set it up is if i go out and i know i want torace i will turn the heater on to build pressure, the heater turns off automatically when the pressure point is reached. then when i am ready to race i turn the system on open the bottle and purge it. after that i just go and race, i will have my window switch set to 3500 and 5800 prm.

once i am done i close the bottle purge the line and turn off the system.

Try 3000 to 5900 for stock car, mine runs great in this range and the auto shifts just after the juice stops flowing...you will hate having to pop your armrest all the time...it sounds cool, but unless you have done it before, I bet you will not like having the switches easily accessible...just something to think about. I have had nitrous on three cars over the past ten years, definatley like the simpler systems...

Had the car at CSS to run it on the Mustang Dyno with N20 and I am pretty pleased with the results, I wish I could make it to SAR this weekend but oh well maybe next weekend.

I really appreciate CSS Tuning(512/670-3000) and would recommend them to anyone!! Those guys have helped me out a great deal with this toy and have made sure I have the safest possible tune with the setup I have.

Think that is because the pressure went down to much, this is a NX wet kit 150 shot, 10° retard, with stock exhaust.
