Well, I searched all over this board and got alot of opinions before buying tires. Thanks to everyone for all of the great info, by the way.

I just put 265/35/18's and thought I'd share some pictures and my humble opinion in case you are trying to decide what to do. I put Nitto 555 Extremes and they are a perfect rolling diameter match with the Nitto 235/40/18's. I will say this...265's are most definitely the largest I would go on stock 18's...and yes, you can feel a difference in the handling (doesn't feel as stable in the corners, but is great in a straight line). In fact, in the future I will either be buying different wheels in order to go with this size or go back to 235's on all four.

Before the questions start...It is a stock suspension...no, they don't rub...yes, the fenders are rolled only slightly...and they were rolled as fenders have been rolled for many years........with a baseball bat .

I hope the pics help someone with a decision.

Do you feel it's not as stable in the corners because 265 is too wide for the stock rims? The section width on the Nittos is slightly smaller than a typical 265. They don't appear to bulge much based on the photos

Yes. If the rim was about an inch wider I think it would make a great improvement with regards to stability. Don't get me wrong though...the car feels different, but is not at all intollerable. I am sure that once I get a little suspension work done the difference will be more than made up.
I can say that the Nittos are a HUGE improvement. Traction from a standstill is much better. I highly recommend Nittos if your looking for new tires.
