Just put some new shoes on the goat and thought that some of you would like to see what the Ruff Racing 278 wheels would look like on a quicksilver goat.. I love it! I've got one of the tires rubbing a bit on hard dips/extra weight in the car so I've got to find where on the fender I need to grind a bit more off of, but the car looks great! Love the new look..

Don't you meen 278's???? I have a set I am picking up this week. I really can't wait to install them. Staggard 18" with Toyo's and 275's in the rear. Rolling the fender lips to be sure though. How is your clearance? If I don't have to roll, I won't. I also have 5/16 drag springs from Pedders installed.

BTW, nice setup, and the car looks great.

Yeah - I meant 278's that's why I went back and added it to the post instead of trying to change the title.. I actually ground my fender lips down and like I said there is still a spot that I need to clean up. However the offset on my wheels is +40 instead of +45 so you might not have to grind as much off with the +45's.. I also have the Toyo tires too - car rides smooth but I haven't been too aggressive with it yet due to the clearance issue that I still need to touch up.

can you please tell me the exact size on them? are the fronts and rears the same? and the offset is +40 all around? thanks

Fronts are 18 x 8.5 35+ offset with Proxes 245/40/18 tires, Rears are 18 x 9.5 40+ offset with 275/35/18 Proxes. For fitment +45 on the rears would probably be better but I do like the stance of these +40.

thanks. when you say the fender rubs, we're talking front, correct?
And what color are those, silver, gunmetal or hyper-something?
I was going to go with mesh, but i really love these wheels, and now that i know how they look on the goat, I really want them.

They look like Chromes but please let me know if I am wrong.

nah, they're deffinitely not chrome. I'm guessing it's a hyper color.

Hyper black. Not sure why RUFF calls them that. But they look just like mine. My rears are 45mm offset though. Picking them up tomorrow night. Can't wait.

They are Hyperblack - basically a grayish silver color - and the rear drivers side fender is what I'm rubbing on currently.. Ground some more off the fender tonight and it made it quite a bit better but with some bigger bumps and speed I still rubbed a little so looks like I'll have to take a little more off.. Strange though - seems much closer on the drivers side than the passengers side.

I forget, do you still have stock rear suspension?

where did you guys order these from? I'm having a hard time finding the correct offset. I think they'll look sweet on pbm sap. please let me know. thanks.

Btw, fender=front, quarters=rear. just to avoid the confusuion.

I actually bought mine from a close past 06' GTO owner. He needed an SUV, and sold the GTO for a TBSS. He never installed his wheels.:wiggle:

It's still the stock suspension.. So I'm considering the drag bags too.. I bought them from a place in Florida... PM me if you're interested... Not sorry at all about your opinion because the fact is I thought the stock wheels looked like sh!t and I had to do something about that - and this is the first time I've switched to aftermarket wheels for a car.. The factory wheels look like an everyday passenger car wheel (or hubcap) to me. But that's why we modify them - to fit our tastes. They'll make perfect winter wheels for me!

To each there own. BTW, get some better springs. Drag bags are nice, but have given me headaches. I sold mine, and installed 5/16 Pedders drag springs. Big differance, and the ride quality is better. Oh, and ride hight is still looking nice.

I also piced up my wheels last night. Once the car is washed, I will post pics.

Looks sharp. Bet it's nice having a 275 tire out back.

Thanks for the suggestion.. I'll look into some new springs too. It's not as bad anymore with some more grinding that I've done but I'd like to rid it totally.

Update!!!! I installed my 278's today. Desided not to roll the fenders and take a chance. Well, so far I have made out well. The Pedders 5/16 drag springs are a life saver. No, a fender saver.

I will be doing a hard launch on video to watch the load on the rear and see how close it comes. But, not one rub mark yet. Here is a teaser pic. I will start my own thread tonight. As well as post a clear car pic tomorrow night. Car was still dirty.
