So look in my sig and you will see what wheels I have, well I got new Toyo Proxi T1r's on the rear and since then the rear end feels way squirly. Like scary on the freeway. I called the place that did it and they said they are new tires and they need to be ran in a little, well did that and it didnt help. Then, I found that my tire pressure was way too low in the front so I bought that up to 42 PSI, and put the rear at 44PSI from 40PSI, well the front felt way better because they were at 24PSI before, but it felt even worse in the back, like I felt like I am driving a boat. So I brought the pressure in the back down to 38PSI, got a little better but still, its scary on the freeway or anything over 70mph on a turn, WTF?

Anyone at all have any input? I mean could something have happen to my suspension when they jacked it up to change the wheels? I mean im way glad I ordered my Pedders package thats soon to be installed because this cars handling is sloppy at best but I didnt have this particular issue before they changed the tires out, thats why im scratching my head on this one. The guy at the place that did the work said if I still wanted to have it looked at I could bring it in tommorow and he will test drive it but if its just because the tires up front are old and the ones are new and it just takes a little time to wear the rears than I dont want to waste my time. But if anyone has any ideas please feel free to speak up, thanks

Dude, you're definetly not alone there... The Home Depot parking lot got two of my tires this morning and the only place around (Discount Tire) didn't have the bfg's in stock so I went with a set of yokohamas in the same size to go on the rear with the two surviving bfg's up front... Yeah, got on the freeway and thought the car was going to change lanes on it's own a couple of times and it feels like the rear now has a mind of it's own... I was out checking for loose lugs and everything else... Only thing I can think of is the differant tread patterns are choosing differant lines down the road or something so it feels like you're floating all over...

most new tires need to break in after a few miles they should straitin out just give them some time. or do a couple of good burn outs that would help break them in.

I ran into the same problem, ended up getting yokohama ev100 or something. Pretty cool tread design, but felt squirly as hell the freeway ride home. After about a week they really changed and felt great. Now I can't tell, they feel just like every other pair of tires.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping and even the trip to work this morning was a hell of a lot better than yesterday on the freeway... Thanks man.
As a footnote to this, I think the score right now is dealership: 0, discount tire: 1... I posted a while back about a metallic rubbing noise that was coming from the rear brakes on both sides... Two trips to the dealer and kept getting the "we don't know what the hell you're talking about" attitude even though several people have asked out of the blue what the noise was... When discount mounted the rear tires back on they use a 4 way and a torque wrench instead of an impact like the dealer... Guess which noise is gone now along with the fact that the rear brakes are working so much better now I can feel a little pull from the rear when I step on the pedal hard... Go figure...
