i am about to buy the beyern type 5 wheels in 18x.8.5 but i just cant decide on which offset either 30mm or 40mm to get. is the 40 deeper dished or the 30? any rub issues with either? i plan on powder coating them black with the polished lip i just want as deep dish look as i can get without cutting or adjusting anything. if anyone has advise that would be appreciated and pics would help too!!!!

30mm will not fit properly. So that should answer your question.

If you want the staggered look witht he deeper dish in the rear,...ya need to buy the 8.5 for the fronts and the 9.5 for the rears.....both 18's. as for offsets,....i believe they were like 40, and 45,...or soemthnig like that,...nothing in the 30's thats for sure.

P.s. As for cheapest place to buy,...i bought the rears thru one place and the fronts thru another,...and after i bought the rears,..they raised the prices.

read this so you can better understand everyone's advice:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/techpage.jsp?t echid=101
for the fronts, you want 18x8.5, 72mm center bore, 40mm offset. for tires, 245/40/18
for the rear, you want 18x9.5, 72mm bore, 45mm offset. for tires, 275/35/18, but be prepared to roll or trim. of course, this assumes you wan a staggered setup
i just purchased mine on ebay, but the fronts are on backorder. should be about 2 weeks

When it comes to aftermarket, staggered is the only way to go in my mind. I plan on doing that when I have the funds for aftermarket wheels. Until then, stock 18s on an 04 looks pretty good.

Will the 18x8.5's w/ 40mm offest work all the way around with no modifications or spring changes? Im not looking for the staggered setup at this time and found a full set of 18's for a decent price..

If you want to use 275 on the rear, you really need +52-54 offset

If you want 275s on the rear with a 9.5 rim your gonna need atleast a 45mm offset, and your gonna still have to trim or roll your fenders.

If your anywhere in the northeast, try contacting Town Fair Tire in Ct. I ordered 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 in chrome for $306 each.(about $100 less for the 9.5's than anyone else, and about $20 less for the 8.5's)
Thanks to a member here for telling me about them.;)

i'm all for supporting a sponsor when the price is right, but that's not even close to competitive with even NON-ebay sellers.
Discount Tire (www.tires.com) also sells these quite reasonably
