But what is the best way to remove the stock center caps off the 17" rims? I just don't want to screw up the rim or cap by popping it out with a small screwdriver or something.

remove wheel and remove clip from the back... IIRC

Take the wheel off and pop it out from the inside, thats the way they all are...guaranteed not to hurt them at all!

Meh, that's what I figured... I just wanted to dry behind the cap after washing the car, since I saw a tiny bit of rust run out from inside the cap today. Taking the wheels off when I wash the car is kinda....not what I'm looking for. Thanks for the replies though guys.

P.S. More than likely, the rust was the small amount of surface rust off the rotors.. I probably shouldn't worry about it since all that surface rust is gone now.
