I know search is my friend, but there is just too much to sift through, i spent about an hour looking and I'm not patient enough to do it anymore :judge:

Next month I'll be getting the Pedders Street II with 5/16" raised rear. I know the OEM springs sag in the first place and the new ones will raise it more.

My question is, how wide can I go on stock 17" rims with the new setup and not rub? The fenders are not rolled at this time.

Thanks for the help!!!!!

You should be okay with 275/40/17's. Nittos will be fine for sure since they run small but a M/T or BFG might need to roll the fenders. With the 5/16" raise I think you will be fine with most if not all 275's.

For reference Im just running Drag Bags and I can fit 275 M/T ET Streets with no problems on stock rims with no fender rolling.

Tire wise I would not go any bigger then 275 on a stock 17 inch rim.

Which Nitto model, Mike, the 555R?

MT's are the ONLY way to go.....Their rubber compound is beyond compare. 275/45/17 ET Streets on the stock 17" wheel. If you have aftermarket stock height springs or ones that raise the back a lil you might get away without any modifications otherwise just get out the trusty angle grinder and grind the fender lips down and you're good to go!

Yes,555R.

'spud is correct about the M/Ts,they are better race tire. They will however wear out faster on the street and really suck in the rain.At "our" HP levels,I don't think the M/T would make much of a difference in the 60ft over the Nittos.

I have Nittos and they suck.

I have the 275 M/T's with +5/16 springs and big bores...You still need to grind shit down to make it work...I still get a little rub on hard rights now that i must fix...

at any rate, don't compromise...Get the M/T's...Owned all 3 and it's definitely the best of the bunch...I've had a set for over 10,000 miles now and they still look like they're barely used...Any sort of foul weather will make it difficult to drive on any of the 3, so don't be a weiner and get a batty boy tire...Get the M/T's

do you guys think that MT 275s on widned 17s would rub ? bc it has a little less "bubble" due to the wider rim ? i think i may try that.

I have 275/40/17 Mickey Thompsons on widened 17" wheels with drag bags and get no rub. No modification to fenders.

Mine don't rub with drag bags. I'd imagine you'd be find with drag bags and stock 17x8 wheels. My wheels are the stock 17's widened to 9 inches.

bringing the thread back ... guys im getting some pedders 0 drop rears and diff bushing tomorrow. think ill be ok with 275s on 9 inch wide stock 17s ?

i may even go with a 255 KDW2 for the cornering... idk my tires now (continental touring junk) are ALL OVER the road at high speed... like dangerous... are drag radials going to be like that ?

Will the M/T's 275/40/17 work without bags on my pedders track 2 setup with stock 17's? I have the 3/8" front drop and OEM height rears with big bores.

I will roll the fenders if I have to but I may just purchase 2 of these M/T's and slap them on the 2 extra OEM wheels I have in the garage and use em before winter. I don't really want to put the bags on or widen the rear until next year when the kaaz, harrop and 3.91's go on.

Right now I am going to attempt byron with 255 nitto 555 zr's and see what I can get. Probably not much but oh well...
