ever since i had my new tires and wheels put on theyre seems to be a strange noise from time to time. almost a grinding moving metal on metal kind of a noisee. I guess its real hard to explain the sound but i get it between 60-65 and occasionaly at low speeds i hear it. I was thinking it could be the tires but if so i didnt know tires made this kind of a noise. I have WAY more clearence on my strut than the factory 17s so it aint a tire rubbing on the strut, my fenders are rolled and it doesnt sound like that because i know what that sounds like. i didnt know if anyone has heard this noise or if anyone with toyo t1rs has this same noise. IF its normal, i really dont mind it lol. But if its not normal i need to make sure im not gonna end up in a tree around one of my twisty roads. I cant see it rubbing anywere and as i said way more room in the front than there used to be. Whats the loud noise that you to hear with performance tires? Sorry i cant explain the noise more

There should be no noise like that from your tires. If anything the lip of your wheel may be rubbing either the strut in front or the wheel well in rear. The best bet would be pull off the wheel from the corner it sounds to be coming from and look for shaving and/or scuff marks.

Check to see if any of the dust sheilds have been bent against the discs during installation of the wheels. Easy to bend back with your hands.

thanks for any info, maybe i have some common suspension issue. What does it sound like when your strut mounts are fried? does the car make noise... i think i read somewere that they make a grinding noise on failure, the strut rubs on metal... doesnt explain everything but it could be some of the grinding im hearing. Also,i noticed, my passanger side only the front tire hits that plastic around the wheel well... my passanger side has been alterd on that sidee (before i purchased) so im thinking the fender/wall wasnt put together correctly because i can fit my finger in the gap on the drivers side but the passanger side hits but not until the wheel is almost all the way cut, 1.2 turns or so it starts to hit but that piece of plastic bends so it would just kind of flex away from the tire but still on the tire. I dont know as of now. the grinding /highway noise seem to be slightly different issues. If its a suspension issue this threads officialy in the wrong section... it started out correct :D

ps i have way more clearance on my strut than ever before, i can fit my hand between the strut and the tire, anyone with the g-force kdws knows you only got about a mm with those things. ridiculously tight.
