slow

Today I went to drive the GTO, and the back left tire was low (7#), ok, that sucks, so i fill it back up with air, no noticable nails, and it holds air, so I drive back to my house.
I get home, and start looking for nails in the tire, and notice there is cracking between the treads. Is this normal for the 17" wheels, with the KDWS tires? The tires on the GTO are about 1 year old, with 1100 miles on them. (i have owned the car for 6 weeks)
I am going to talk to the local service manager, and see what they say, but I am curious to see their responce.
Anybody have similar issues, and did pontiac take care of it for you?
Just incase the dealer says that is how these tires are, this is my history with them:
I have purchased 10 275/40/17" KDWS tires over the past 5 years, and have never had this issue on any of them (most lasted about 2-2 1/2 years on my WS6)
The current set on my TA are fine, with 1 1/2 years old, and 15,000 miles on them, no cracking, that I will be happy to drive to the dealer as well, if he wants to pull that card.
Thanks
Ryan
