would C6 ZO6 wheels fit on a 2006 GTO?

You might want to do a search for detailed info, it's out there. OEM C6 Z06 only fronts will fit with some tinkering on our rear but not on the front, Z06 rears no too wide, replicas are available for different sizes. The bolt pattern is slightly off but people have been successful with it, the offsets don't really work without spacers which means you'll need longer studs. You decide on how dangerous it may be by doing the search. If I found a set of Vette rims I liked, the hurdles to mount them wouldn't stop me from buying them, but that's just my opinion.
