I am lost on tires I have done some browsing around and what not ,but not found what I am looking for. I need new tires for my 06 GTO keeping stock I think they look great so I wanna keep them. I was wondering what would be the better of the three on these tires??? Also what sizes will fit I wanna go bigger without any rub issu. I do a lot of highway dirving but I dont drive it like a ***** when I am on 129 or backroads.
The three I am looking at now
Bridgestone Potenza S-02
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2

my goat is a daily driver, so i chose to go with the Eagle F1's. i just got 245 all around (although some are telling me i should've gotten 255). i have 18s and it seems close to the strut, but i dont see any evidence of rubbing. i wanted to be able to rotate them so i can prolong the life on them as much as possible.
as for performance, they feel great! i am more confident on the grip of the car in both dry and wet conditions (hardly ever rains in socal ;)...this is on stock suspension. i dont know why some people say they can be a little noisy, i would say it depends more on the condition of the roads (drive on the 105 vs the 5 in the OC and you'll see what im talking about).
one last reason I got the F1's is because it doesnt have that middle "silencer" on the tire. a lot of the highways here are grooved, so my stockers would catch and follow those grooves and would make my passengers question my driving skills.
I'm really happy with them, I have about 1,000 miles on them already. hope this helps a little :D

Talk about a trashed road the stockers have gotten me 18k. I would like to get about the same out of the next. how close is it to rubbing on the 245 ???

While the S02's were great tires in their day (and may have a slight edge over the s03) they are previous generation and todays ultra high performance all season tires are just as good...pass on those.
Pretty much comes down to what you are looking for. I believe that the BFG's are slightly less expensive and many members report good things with them. From some of the other boards that i belong to, the GS-D3's are the second highest rated tire behind the uber-$$$ Michelin Pilot Sport2. If you can swing the extra bucks, i think that the GY offers better performance for just a few dollars more, all while providing slightly quieter operation while worn.

The Potenza S02 was discontinued a few years ago.
How many miles a year do you drive?
Any track days planned?
Auto X?
Need an all season tire or not?

For quality......Michelin PS2's, for price Toyo's can't be beat, IMO. Stay away from all Goodyears, Firestones, etc. I'm not a fan of Goodrich either.

Ps2's For A Comfy Ride And Excellent Handling, Bridgestone Re01r's For All Out Extreme Handling. Goodyears F1's If Your Gonna See More Wet Weather, Better Yet Standing Water.

Thanks for your expert opinion, I'm surprised that you've found ANY tires that meet your expectations.

If I were in your shoes, looking for predominantly a highway cruiser, not a drag or autocross vehicle, I'd go with the Goodyears. That was my choice until I stumbled across a local set of 3200-mile takeoff stock Potenza's for $200 :)

well I do some drag racing and I drive like a mad man on the dragon I do a lot of highway dirving everyday though and every other month up to cleveland from knoxville tn about 1000 mile round trip all together so I would like best of both world. I am not to worried about the price b\c tires are what keeps you on the ground and I dont care swinging the extra dough for them.

if you are willing to spend the $$$...get some PS'2s. If those are just a little too pricey, go with the GY's. they will provide plenty of grip both wet and dry with fairly crisp repsonse while providing good tracking and noise levels.

I'd go with the Goodyear F1's from those choices dude.

Yeah because Toyo TR-1s are even on the same level of KDW's or F1's

Bridgestone RE960AS is a good all season, good traction, good mileage tire. I have them on mine and have had very good luck with them
They are a step up from the Potenza S03's that I had.
The Goodyear F1 GSD3's are also very good.
Michelin Pilots are very good, but very pricey.
I'm not a fan of the Toyo's but the T1R is a good tire, though isn't going to last a long time.
If your looking for all out stickiness, the Potenza RE01R's are VERY good.

I just bought KDW's for mine but I've read so many reviews about them being a very noisy tire but grip well I picked noisy for the price. After all the different user reviews and pro reviews my initial choice was the Goodyear F1's or the Michelin PS2 but I just couldn't justify spending that kind of dough for them. The PS2 were getting the best reviews but accoding to most they had very low tread life. The F1 seems to be the best all around combo but was way out of my budget. As for the Toyos I didn't even bother after reading so many people complaining about no traction once the tires warm up. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

I don't really have any info on the KDW's first hand, so I can't really comment on them, but I've heard a few people that have been happy with the KD's, but the reviews on Tire Rack don't correspond to that.
