I am looking for a '04 GTO and most are quoting 26k. What do you think the realistic best price possible for a new "04? is in Februrary?

thanks,

Jeff:

In my opinion $26k is in the ballpark. You should be able to negotiate off the price once they know you are interested. If you have not already done so find where the cars are via inventory search on pontiac web site and request quotes from the dealers on those specific cars.

I bought a new '04 6spd with dealer installed MPD ram air hood for $25k less $3k in GM gold card points this past Saturday. Around here new '04 6spds are tougher to find. Only two within 100 miles (now only one) vs. 20+ automatics. When I requested quotes from local dealers via GM web site most dealers got back to me with $25-$27k quotes.

For me buying a '04 was a no brainer. What other 350hp new car is being sold for $25k or less?

I think that the sticks will bring a premium. Here in TX there aren't many left. I think it will largely depend on the dealer. I have gotten quotes from 24,900 on a4's to 27's. Best bet is to look for a dealer with several left, or a dealer who sells primarily trucks. I got mine for 23,400 at the end of jan with the loyalty rebate, from a truck dealer. He still has an a4 blk/blk on the lot that I bet he would give the same price for without the rebate! - and this was a great dealer to work with. Another dealer is local and has 3 a4's on the lot that I am sure would go for 24,900 - Barb/blk, Tor/Blk, Blk/Blk. They were also very straight forward to deal with.

Big thing is to spend some time looking and be willing to drive a couple of hours. Deals are still out there!

I paid 23,995 for mine last week. I had no loyalty rebates or anything of that nature. That is the price they had it advertised for.

I think it depends on the area you live/buy the car in. If I would have waited a month or so, maybe gotten $1k less for the car, but then it might have been gone. Most of the stick cars are all sold around me.

I saw on another forum that GM is giving an incentive of $1000 to cars that have been in dealer stock for 180+ days. Does anyone know of a website that lists all current *2004* GTO rebates/incentives? There are quite a few located in my area (Pacific NW), and I'm really looking at these now that they are discounted.

Thanks!

Hey Steve, just go to gmbuypower.com and follow the instructions.. put in the type of car, then the year and then your zip code or even find other zip codes outside of your area for a larger search, this site will bring up dealerships in the area of the zip code you install.. click on each dealership to search their inventory.... EBAY might be your best bet tho, a dealership on EBAY has around 13 they cant get rid of.

good luck.. im keeping my eyes open too.
