will a 245/45/18 work?

About to buy some wheels - 18x8.5 40mm offset and I was wanting to run 245/40 tires all the way around. I ran across some 245/45/18s and wasn't sure if they would be too tall? They are Hankook ventus V4s.

I'm sure it could work, but that would be tall as hell. I'd just go with another brand of tire if you can't get the size you want.

I would be money that the 45 would be too tall, not to mention look awkward on an 18" wheel...

Depends on tire maker....I have 245/45/18 riken raptors on stock wheels and the dont rub at all.....They look good and hook really good actually...People ask me if i lowered the car since they fill the fender wells really good....
