I had a rear blowout just after 25,000 miles on the highway today. It still had some tread life on it and I was wondering if the dealer would cover this under warranty. This wasn't caused by any outside influences (nail, etc).

I doubt they will cover a road hazard on a factory tire, much less one with 25,000 miles on it.

I don't think they will cover that as they will say that is a wear item.

However, if the dealership you go to for service, for any reason need positive feedback from their customers on recent service, they are a bit flexible.

I had my factory radio which had a crack in it replaced under warranty. They rouded front rotors for me up front due to steering wheel shake to get good feedback from me when i get the survey in mail.

In any case, it does not hurt to try.

you got twice the life out of your tires than most GTO owners, me included- not from spinning the tires but from a bad factory alignment- which might be covered if you found the right dealer and had less than 12,000 miles on it

Take it to a Bridgestone dealer... Bridgestone has a really good warranty.

You're right about the alignments. Although my rears did not have unusual wear, the front right tire looks almost new on the outer edge but was showing steel belts on the inner edge. Oddly the left side didn't have this wear pattern.

My concern was that if it was caused by rubbing on the shocks or something.
