not a bad tire....pretty good considering the price. Overall its a pretty strong tire with a good amount of cornering grip. Nothing spectacular in the wet but will get you though most rain showers.

Freaking amazing!!!
I just had a set (17s) installed on my '04, todayl I thought I'd check in to see if that was a wise move. Lotta good it would do me if the vote here was a resounding :nono::nono::nono:
After 2 miles at speeds in open stretches approaching 35 mph, I can say that the ride was a great improvement over the stock BFGs -- smoother and quieter. I don't know if that's really what one should look for in a muscle car, but that's what I got -- I think.
I bought 'em at Discount Tire in Phoenix.
Here's an update to the original post, above:
Mine are the 245/45ZR-17 RBL BFG G-FORCE SPORTs. Discount Tire's price was $130 (I see Tire Rack's price is $115). 'Course , after you pay--
Environmental fee, $2.00
Road hazard/free replacement, $19.00
Waste tire disposal fee, $2.00
Lifetime spin balancing, $13.00
Sales tax, $12.23
a set of four will run about $90,000 (We-l-l-l-l-l, awright, $713).

I own them, as well. For the price, they are a really good buy. My dad also had them on his Mustang, and he really liked them.

18/245/40 on TSW Lunguna, 2500 miles - great dry traction, wear and ride quality IMHO, of course no rain here in Phoenix so can't speak to wet conditions.

The KDW NT is the New Tread/weird tread pattern. Great traction but also likely great noise...

Got 30k out of my G-Force Sports and enjoyed them very much. Good dry traction, excellent rain traction and held their own in snow. Only bummer is that they're a directional tire so we can't rotate them to the other side of the car without dismounting/remounting them.

FWIW sccaGTO works for a tire shop and recommended these tires as a good lower-cost option compared to the KDW and KDW-NT.

Jersey, I think you meant "can't" rotate them to the other side of the car. Go ahead and edit it, and I'll delete my post :)
No reason to delete your post. I made a boo-boo. It's fixed now. Yeah, can't rotate to the other side of the car. It does take its toll on the tire. However, collapsing springs did a lot worse. Gonna post some pics of my totally used up back tires. I never do burnouts, even at the strip. Poor things are bald. Not corded but totally bald... but they did make it up and back to Watkins Glen. :drink:

I agree, except for the great noise part. I went from stock tires to the KDW N/T's & noticed no additional noise with this tread design.
The straight line traction is outstanding, but I'm sceptical about goingthrough some serious twisties
with the soft sidewall on the N/T's.
For example, along the same stretch of road @130mph with a wide, sweeping bend...stock tires felt secure to me. With the N/T's, they felt a little unstable, as though I was driving on glass.

I have them and have and them for bout 11K miles. They are a great tire and for the price you cant beat them. Fronts still look great but my rears are pretty much on wear bars. And for those wondering I have wider tires in the back that is why there has been no rotation, and for that reason and alot of hard lauches is why the rears are toast.

yeah I would go with 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear

I'm not saying get the RE01R but considering you have driven this car less than 2000 miles in total ownership it's ridiculous for "tire wear" to even be an issue for you. The rubber will disintegrate sitting before you wear it out from driving.
Get the KDW and be done with it.

I've got the g-Force Sports and they seem to be working fine and dandy so far (~400 miles). I plan on having a "lead foot" this summer, if you know what I mean, so their cost (and a rebate) was the major factor in my choosing them.

Very good and cheap performance tire. I had 245/40/18's all around on my Grand Prix. They're quiet, they handle wet weather great, the provide good traction, and from what I remember pretty good cornering ability. I actually still have them mounted on the wheels for my Grand Prix just sitting out in my shed. I have to sell those damn things one of these days.

Ehh, I wouldn't say much better. I've had both, albeit on different cars. They're better but not hugely better.

i was going to get them... but i went with the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS pole position's instead, due to the crazy weather here in pa.. and needing to drive my car in sub freezing temps...
i love them.. they grip light years better then the stock KDWS's and are awesome in the rain

18"x7.5" Bronze Enkei RSV's. I absolutely love the style and just wish I could find something that looked just like them for the GTO. I don't think I've ever seen another Grand Prix with them.

Amen sir. Tires themselves can be a mod folks.
Want better grip, braking, and traction? Try choosing from this group for your tires instead.
