will this combination work on my 2005 gto front 18x8.5 with 245 40 18and rear 18x9.5 with 265 40 18. will there be any rubbing rubbing in the rear fender. thanks

Offset is important to know in giving you advice. I would go with a 275 35 18 in the rear, though, when you get to 265 and wider with a 40 series tire, it seems to be too tall.

Stock suspension you will have rub issues. Instead of rolling or cutting the fenders, I would install the Pedders 5/16 lift springs in the rear with drag bags. It will stiffen the rear and give you the clearance without cutting/rolling. That's what I did and I have the 274 40 17 mt's dr's for the track, absolutely no rubbing.
