Thinking of purchasing an 05 GTO

My girlfriend currently is looking at the possibility of purchasing an 05 GTO in either Midnight Blue or Metalic Silver. Anyone have any advice or warnings really? Being as the 05's are totally kick-ass IMO however they lack alot of research and a paperwork trail to see what the potential problems were/are. She is just now coming out of a LEMONED 2004 Mach 1 so she really doesn't want to start all over again per say. I'm a die hard GM Truck owner but I know exactly jack shit about LS1's and LS2's. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just got 05GTO with Auto. The LS2 is pretty much best v8 push rod I had experienced with. If your girlfriend wants to use every ounce of power out of it, go with stick.

She won't get disappointed in terms of performance.However, Fit and finish is not up to par(paint, windows with bubble marks or scratch marks,driver side door edge doesnt fit flush etc. check out other threads with GTO problems or use search).

Driver's side door lock didnk work from day one, and am not so happy with quality of paint. and Fit and Finish is really terrible(maybe it is just my car) so inspect your GTO throughly before you buy it.

I love the engine and that is one of the major reason why I got this car.
