I have about 28,000 miles on my toyo proxe4's....looks to me like if it started snowing tomorrow that I'd still be in alright shape...I think I'll wind up w/ nearly 40,000 miles at least on them.
Does this sound normal to you all? I hear people on this forum saying they only get like 15,000 etc....

if it starts snowing tomorrow you're not all right. time to increase your "carbon footprint" to a size 16 :gr_jest: it sounds like you're not doing enough "spirited driving". i have 28,000 on my front tires but i've gone thru a couple of sets of rears

40K on a set of PX4's is about avg for that tire. I ran into a customer who put 72K and still had a few 32nd's left a few weeks back
That said, I got about 18K on the stock tires. I've had other tires I got less then 10K on.
The PX4s have a very high wear rating for a UHP tire :)

I got 36k out of the original set of stockers, on my second set of BFG's now
The rear 18" Bridgestones lasted 19.5k...the fronts still have 8/32", so assuming at least 40k on those.
Bought some continentals, so I hope they last 2X as long as those too-fast-wearing-for-oem crap it came with :D

I have around 7K on my stockers... I think i'm going to need new ones in another 5k miles.
I haven't rotated them because I don't want the rear ones on the front.

I have free tire rotation from town fare...I do it every 5,000 miles give or take.
very worth while...I had 1 tire repaired and one completely replaced like 5,000 miles ago due to a screw...should have to only buy 3 tires in a couple months I guess.

you don't rotate?
Sig says he has widend rears with DR's on them, so either they are wider tires than the front, different tires than the front (very likely), or both. I am running the same thing (sans the widend rear wheels).

When I bought mine used last summer it was on it's 2nd set at 24K and they were worn out! So I can only assume the last guy drove a little hard...
I replaced them with factory BFG 17" and so far have 10K out of them and they are wearing well!
I didnt want to go with a different brand for fear of having a worse strut rub situation, mine barely rub at this point.

The toyos don't rub either...in fact I noticed some (nothing to worry about) on the stock BFG's in comparison.
I am going w/ the Toyos again after another 10,000 miles or before the winter comes...whatever happens first.
I personally feel the strut-rub issue is something that is exacerbated by gto owners who drive their cars particularly hard, don't get alignements and/or rotations when they should, or modify the suspension and wheels.
That's just me.

i accidentally put about 32k on the stock BFG's until they started to split apart. hehe

My stockers had about 25k when I replaced them. They were about ready to go, but I could have gotten a few more miles out of them safely. At any rate I was ready for something stickier.

Are these Toyo Proxe4 All season?
I have 2 BFG directional summer only tires left with decient tread in the basement too. I was fairly suprised at how good the All season BFG KDWS did in the snow!
Sound like a good tire! I'll look into them, hopefully it wont be for a wile.
As far as strut rub, I have a "brown" like line around my tires, not deep or anything crazy, but the pricklies are warn off the insides. I try to rotate every 5K and I dont do burnouts or excessively hard driving.

15K on mine but the rears maybe have 5k left in them if I keep driving like I do. Fronts looks really good though.
No I cannot rotate them 245 fronts 275 rears.
