How much is speedometer affected by adding larger wheels ?
I believe I read somewhere that it's about 5 mph faster then what your speedo actually is showing, is this correct ?

It depends on the over all height of the wheel/tire combo. If you did a +1 -1 you should be ok. (Meaning that you increased you wheel diameter by one inch and decreased you sidewall by 10 - the sidewall being the second number in your tire size - like going from a 50 series tire to a 40 series tire.) If you haven't changed that measurement - you shoudn't have a problem

here's a tire calculator:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Stock Tire:
Diameter: 25.7"
Revs/Mile: 785.0
New Tire:
Diameter: 25.5"
Revs/Mile: 792.0
your spedo should be very close
possibly indicating a hair faster than actual speed

I just put on some 19x9 & 19x10 Drift R's with 265/30/19 & 275/30/19 Toyos. When calculating the speedo difference I assume you put in the front tire specs? If so it says that my speedometer will read 60 but I will only be doing 59. So I have that 1 mph cushion with the fuzz now!:secret:
