Does any one know how to remove crome from wheels if they are plated? I had chromed factory wheels (done before I owned the car) and I guess the people that did the job did a crap job. There is a big spot on one of the wheels where the chrome came off. I am just going to get rid of the chrome and powder coat them for now. Thanks.

Take it to a chrome shop and have it striped.

You can't sandblast chrome off, it has to be chemically stripped in a charged solution. Your friend may have just assumed it was sandblasted...any decent coating place would have a bath to get the chrome off.

Reverse plating is the only way to do it... Sand blasting will damage the wheels.
