Well I went to rotate my tires today and noticed my tires were much more worn than I thought. So I thought I would get some new tires or maybe find a good wheel and tire package. Now I definantly would like to stay under a grand so I thought I would ask and see what kind of wheel and tire packages you guys have gotten that were budget friendly. I will consider either 17's or 18's.
Also, I noticed on my back tires the inside of the wheels were worn more than anywhere else. Is that an alignment issue or strut rub?

Have you changed any bushings on the front suspension of your car,if you havent that could be the cause of your tires wearing uneven.Change the front and back radious rod bushings from pedders and get some Gsr front struts. That should help your tire wear issue.Factory suspension is CRAP.It took some time but I changed every bushing in my car with Pedders and put Pedders coilovers in the front and put 5/16 rear springs along with GSR rear shocks.Lets just say my car corners like a race car.As for tires I would go with BFgoodrich KDW's and a set of TSW thruxton's 18's.Good luck.

You are wanting to get wheels and tires for under a grand correct?
I just dont know if that is possible with the GTO. I mean lets say that you can get a deal on some cheap tires for $100 each, that leaves $600 for wheels at $150 each. I know the TSW's are in the $200 range each just for the wheels.
I think you are going to be in the $1500 range at least, unless you can find a smoking deal in the classifieds.

I don't know, maybe it's me......don't mean to highjack this thread, I've also been looking for tires and rims - just initially......and I've searched and read a lot of people's opinion.....but for me, my first two priorities for rims are strength and weight. It really amazes me how many online ads for aftermarket rims do not give you these specs....Tire Rack is an example......again....sorry for highjack.......
Here are a nice set, IMO.....15 lbs, 1 piece forged.......now we're talking....

It appears you may have sagging rear springs. May I suggest a new set of springs and shocks with a staggard set of 18's?

Most time labor only is covered if you do aftermarket springs. But using stock stuff should be covered. But your getting the same crap your taking out.

Check Holeshot's posts for pics of his wheels/Kumho tires... got 'em as a package from Tire Rack, I can't remember the price but it wasn't super-expensive...

you keep posting about these wheels, you must really like them, I like the way they look alot, one problem, 7.5" width is the max... that is narrower then stock.
ASA wheels from tirerack are a good wheel that should fit well, staggered fitments, and are not expensive.

General Exclaim UHPs (Ultra High Performance) are a nice tire for a good price - set of 4 stock sized, delivered, then mounted and balanced should run around $400.
