will these babies fit with the pedders drag springs without rubbing or do I need to get out the grinder and cut the lip down?thanks

Just put them on!!! You have a stick car, and your cam doesn't make enough low end tourqe to be able to squat the car enough with those springs to make them touch. BTW, a minor roll (which I will have a thread about soon) is all you might need. Oh, and BFG tires are wider than the Nittos.

im guessing they wont rub on 9 inch wide stock 17s with 5/16 pedders springs out back. (but i may go KDW2 for the cornering)
first i need to gain about 150 rwhp

an 8inch rim shouldn't mount a 275/40 size tire on it...it balloons over the side of the rim and that hits the fenders on the stock 17s. BFG runs big so there's the problem. A BFG 275 and a Nitto 275 are 2 very different sized tires.
