I maybe the only one on this board that cares (and if so, I'm sure someone will let me know :D), but did anyone happen to catch the Cincinnati/Oregon State game last night?
As an alumnus of Ghetto State (UC), I am used to seing my school drumming opponents during the basketball season (until last year anyway). Now I have a football program to proud of, wow! Getting used to that idea will take some work. I know it was only one game, but 34-3 over a decent Pac-10 team? http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc170/tsherick/ thewave.gif

I have a piece of paper that says I was there from 1989 to 1994. I remember paying the student loans from 1994 to 2003, but I can't quite put my finger on any specific "memories" from the college years. :oldfogey:

Let's hope they turn out as good as their current record indicates. I am currently paying tuition for my kid at UC so I have an interest also. Wouldn't it be great if UC runs the table and OSU ends up there also. That will give the BCS fits. My son called me last night from the LA Coliseum. His friend got them tickets on the 50 yd line. He just had to send some phone pics to rub it in. Well, at least it was a shitty game.
Just checked their schedule. 3 pretty tough games ahead of them. Fingers crossed.

Nice win! I watched the game. I haven't been paying attention to UC since I thought they were having a bad year. My daughter doesn't go to the games or GAF about football, so she would never have kept me filled in. They've got an outside shot at the BE, but the next 3 games look like maybe too big a hill to climb, though.

:iagree: No matter what, the Big East goes through Morgantown. And for some reason, we just can't seem to beat those dumb-asses from Louisville. Cardinals don't have teeth you inbred hicks! Gimme my keg of nails!

There's a tear in your beer... I'm sure. Give me a playoff system, and they can keep the BCS mnoney instead. Would UC ever win big money? Probably not, but the way it is right now, the Big 4 Conferences need to look in the mirror when crying "UNFAIR!".

Ok, I will chime in here.......
I've been nice here. UC is a very defensively solid team. I give them all the props in the world. I was at the game in Morgantown (WVU season tickets). I have to say, that was ALMOST a come back for the ages. YES, I stayed the entire time. I have to admit. The funniest thing to hear and see was the UC fans down in the corner get VERY nervous in the last minute of that game.
In defense of my Big East partners, I just want to ask a few simple questions. What conference champ has taken the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 champs out behind the woodshed over the last 3 years in the BCS bowl games? When was the last time the ACC even won a BCS game? Answer me why OU, with all their tradition and football powers refuse to give WVU the 'return game' that was put down on paper from way back when? I know WVU has already beaten them the only 2 times they have played. Once in Norman, and once on a 'neutral' field.
I'm sure we can go on and on, but I'm not going to hi-jack this thread.
Good job for UC. They understood the way to Miami goes through Morgantown. It is just a shame our guys forgot they had a game to play until the last minute. This season has been kind of good for our program. We are shaking off a LOT of bandwagoners we have picked up over the last few years. Now we will get back to Mountaineer football again next year. Auburn next year. Then LSU gets a crack at us for the 2 years after that.
......... Oh, and thanks for Huggy.......... He's doing great being home again.

well, I personally hate ND with everything I have in my body. When the Cuse beat them, I laughed for a good 2 days straight on that one. I think the Big East is doing just fine. Of course ESPN are going to slam the conference every chance they get. You have to remember that nice big TV deal they signed with the SEC. Big East football will do just fine though. UC, UL, and UConn were all great additions. The only thing I would really like to see UC do is put in some more seats into their stadium.

:iagree:
We're working on that stadium thing. The facilities are currently top-notch... for a MAC or Conference USA school. The BCS money has already been secretly earmarked for facilities upgrades. When Nippert was renovated/expanded in the early 1990s, the structure was supposed to accomodate expanding the upper deck all the way around the lower bowl. If that additional seating were to be completed as planned, it would add between 15,000 and 20,000 which would take the total capacity to ±55,000.

Well, I was pulling for my Big East brother...... but ouch. The bad part is it was an ACC team that beat them. Oh, how badly I wanted to play VT this year. I was hoping Pat White would get his chance. Oh well. UC just needs to learn out to pick up and do it again next year. WVU will be on the fence next year. I'm not sure what to think of them yet and probably won't until next season. Midnight, if you are still around there and into it, I may have to make the drive out there for the game. So I'll keep you in mind.

Somewhere, someone decided that Pike was the second coming of Graham Harrell. Meanwhile, they completely forgot the fact that Goebel and Ramsey are tough, hard-nosed running backs. :banghead: Based on the way they were able to run the ball, Tech still would have won, but Pike left 10-points out there, and one of those picks led to another 7-points for the Hokies. Meh... coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Yeah, especially considering WVU is one of a few schools that do not serve alcohol at the stadium. It was a shock on my first visit to Nippert when I noticed they did. Of course they were serving it out of a trailer due to construction, but oh well..... I didn't care.
