I try to be a good fan, year in and year out, but it's so ****ing hard to watch them suck ass with a passion every season. Each season starts with renewed hope that maybe just maybe it'd be our year to at least have a winning season, but nope, not this year either.
This year: new coach, new QB who shouldn't be horrible, should still have a solid defense, got good receivers, might just work out for us!
Last year (2006): Second year with Coach Saban, maybe the team has started to learn his system! And we finally have good QB! Daunte Culpepper should do good things for us this year!
Year before last (2005): New coach, and he was good at the college level. Maybe he can turn things around, and it can't be worse than last year.
2004: Who am I kidding, with a summer like we had, nobody was suprised at the shittiness of the 04 season.
2003: Maybe just maybe coach Wannstdet will figure things out this year. Ricky Williams looks good, and should make for a good offensive weapon to open up the passing game.
bang bang
maybe i can become one of those bandwagon asshole cowboys fans, or even worse, a bandwagon shitass pats fan.

I ws a Raiders fan when Hofstettler was qb. They had Rocket Ismail, and Rice. Then they came to this.
They aren't awful this year.

i got no gripe with people who are from the area and are legitimate fans of their team. it's the dickbags in florida who suddenly around 2001 or so decided that they'd root for the pats and cheer every time tom brady scored a home run that really bug me.

and for the record, i will not be abandoning my team even if they do suck. that would be a SERIOUS man law violation, up there with bandwagon fanning in the first place.

Give them time Napoleon, part of what happened to the Dolphins was that they got old at too many positions. In the world of pro football teams eventually reach a point where management has to clean out all the old wood and replace the talent through the draft or trading.
The only team that I know of that continued to perform at a high level when they where probably the oldest team in the NFL is the Washington Redskins of the late seventies.

you would think so, but they make so many outright BAD personnel decisions it's mind blowing. Drafting Ted Ginn with Brady Quinn still on the table when they have needed a QB for the better part of a decade? Trading for Trent Green? Are you Fing kidding me?!? Or Joey freaking Harrington?? ugh.

I hear you on this one man. Last time I got a rise out of a dolphins game is when they beat the pats on Monday night football. Of course, they went on to win the superbowl but that made it an even better win due to it being one of their only losses(if not the only).

I grew up in Naples. We had season tickets for Dolphins games my whole life. I'd root for them even if they sucked. It's pretty depressing how they keep finding ways to lose :(

Well, judging by the attendance levels at the game, they should be damn near giving away sesson tickets.:bomb:

At least the Raiders have won a super bowl. Detroit on the other hand hasn't won a championship since 54. Oh yeah I claim Detroit BTW

I've been a loyal Atlanta Falcons fan since 1973.
You wanna talk about pain, I am the King.
NEVER, EVER have had back to back winning seasons. How "teh suck" is that?

Yea, the Dolphins suck. I have been a die hard Bears fan since birth, and it sucks beyond belief to have such a kick ass defense, special teams, receivers, line, backs, EVERYTHING BUT THE DAMN QUARTERBACK. One game he will show how sweet of a throw he has and make you go "wow". However, in the next game or play he will just shit all over the field.

I began following the Dolphins in 1969. I followed them until I stopped following pro football a few years ago. I do keep an eye on them still....Of the 38 yrs I followed them and watched them, the last time I smiled for them was 1973. Even when Marino was there I was expecting a let down, it happened. Their offense then carried them, not the defense. It is true Defense wins championships.
Not many college coaches who step into the Pro arena excel. Saban QUICKLY went back to the college ranks. Salary caps prevent a team from having an entire team of ALL pros as the Dolphins, Steelers, 49 ers etc had in the 70's and 80's. Combine that with the greed, and self centered players who put TEAM unity behind their own prostitution to teams with the highest offer, you have to have an above balance of Offense, and Defense to win. One year a team is fantastic the next they are in the cellar. Marque players will leave a championship team and go to a cellar team who is flashing big $$ in their face because they don't have the salary cap problems of better teams, and a player will sacrifice a chance at a Super Bowl for the cash. Years ago it was the other way around. The Dolphins are in that situation. You cannot build a great team when players are bailing out all the time. Coaches included. Personally, I don't like the way the game has evolved. MONEY is ruining the sport, and the people who go and shell out 300 a game and spend 300 a year to watch them on cable channels are contributing to it.
The time is coming when the only way to watch meaningful games on TV is to buy packages. Example........ The big 10 network. Here where I live I cannot watch Big 10 football games on TV without buying the package through Direct TV. Only can I watch them here is if a big 10 team is playing a team who has sold rights to the normal cable channels like NBC. Soon the Big East, and all the others will be doing the same. Same with pros. It will come. ALL FOR $$$$$. So what you will have are fans buying the packages and paying to be pissed. It's coming.

If you want to know what it feels like to destroy several T.V.'s by throwing a football through the screen try having Rex Grossman as your QB for a few years...

Trade Sammy Morris and Culpepper, only to bring in an old QB only a hearbeat away from a career-ending injury? Trent Green/Priest Holmes had some great years in KC, but Green is a third tier QB this year and I think Holmes is hanging sheetrock for some construction company. If you can't win a super bowl with Marino, you likely can't win one. Not beating on you, because I'm a Panther fan and I think Jon Fox and Delhomme have this season to show why they should remain employed. I'm about to become a front runner fan.

Good game this weekend untill the 2nd half. Buddy if mine is a crack-head-die-hard miana fan.
I couldn't help but laugh at the FIFTH damn turn over. Green needs to step it up a notch, seemed like he was throwing to ghosts.

Either that or Green expects Chris Chambers to be everywhere at once! One of the Phins problems is that they have Chambers, but the drop-off at WR is huge after him (kinda like the Panthers with Steve Smith, now that I think about it). I don't think that Green is as fragile a QB as everyone thinks he is. He may be 39, but he still moves pretty good. He has been lucky and has not had too many problems with his knees throughout his career (unlike Cullpepper). Until last season he had played without injury for five or more seasons.

There is a little known clause in that rule that states:
If your teams management and ownership continue to screw your franchise in every possible way, it is possible to switch your allegiance to another franchise. (as long as that franchise is not the Patriots)
Napoleon, with the Saban hiring and leaving, your continuous bad drafts, coaching situation, and clueless quarterback situation I believe you qualify for this rule. Just trying to help.
