im getting nitrous in the next few weeks, I have a m6 is there anything that would automaticly make it kick on at like 3500 rpm and make it shut off at 5900rpm. It will only be used in the summer do I need a bottle warmer? Any gauges needed?

Ive never used nitrous before so I plan on starting with a 50 shot and just buy nozzles as I go which wont take long im a speed freak. But I dont plan on going over a 100 shot do I need to retard the timing at all?

How much will it all cost after I buy everything I need + install unless I can get someone to help I dont trust myself enought mabey if I done it before.

get the timing tuner from ramchargers.com (or on EBAY for cheapre, about $229 shipped) It will allow you to adjust timing up/down at WOT only, or all the time, and when on motor OR on nitrous....as well as having window switch for activiting nitrous at 3000 (3500 is too high) and off at 5900 (that is what I am using)...

Typically, you don't need to retard timing on a 100 shot (or even 150 shot on most LS1's), HOWEVER I have been monitoring my car with EFI LIve Pro software and found some odd things...

I have KR now with 0 degree advance (i.e., stock timing), about .7 degree of KR to be exact. I pulled one degree out on motor to avoid the KR. On the 150 shot I am using, I had to pull out 4 degrees and still had .6 degree KR, so now with the -1 on the motor and the additional -4 (-5 total), which is a LOT of timing retard for a LS1...I do have a homemade CAI that MAY be contibuting to the timing issue, although I am not certain.

I had a nitrous burn Saturday night, caused the car to shut down, smoked the K&N filter pretty good, and singed the hood felt...but no real damage (plugs fine).

I will put it on the chassis dyno when I get the chance to monitor AF ratio.

I also have a Metco Valvecover breather since the dipstick did push out a little when on the bottle...

Is that anything like when my '74 Z-car backfired through the carbs and burned up the foam aircleaner element? Sheeeesh, what causes that to happen with nitrous??
