Does anyone have any experience with 16" wheels fitting over the 05 front brakes?

Bueller? Bueller?
Search on Freedom Fighter. When he got his non-DOT rims mounted he put up a bunch of pics, including shaving just a little metal off his 05 calipers to fit 15" rims.... Not sure if you should look in here or drag racing or appearance or what.

Yes.
Yes.
So you've run 16's front and rear with no issues?

I don't have any experience with this, and many properly don't as well so you will probably need to measure.
the only way to know if it fits is to measure the internal wheel volume in question. some 16' wheels may fit other may not clear the calipers properly.

15 inch cragers here
I borrowed a 16" 5x120 steel rim off an E46 BMW (a guy I know trying to sell a set of snows) and it wouldn't clear the front rotor. It barely rubbed, but it rubbed.

Could I clearance the caliper a little with a grinder and it would work?

t/a and camro rims work.

Maybe. But the caliper is a moving part and I personally wouldn't want to deal with clearances that tight. I'm just going to watch for a set of stock 17's to come up cheap and have my snows mounted on those. Or maybe pick up a nice set of 18's this summer and leave the snows on my 17's.
