you can et a new AR for around 1k depending on quality.
from the looks of the website those have been beat on. You can find a much better condition AR at a gun show for around the same price

be carefull.... look closely, it is a scrap sale. They have mis-matched uppers and lowers, just put together all the extras they had laying around and made up some complete arms out of the extra parts they had taking up space.
As you are not guaranteed a specific upper or lower, you just might get a chinese clone/ outsourced lower, or some other cheap quality item that got traded in at a gun show or something.
A new bushy might be around 1000, but it would be complete "numbers matching" so to speak. My last purchase was a DCM colt A2 was $1100, but used.
I would agree, though, that this would make an excelent gun to throw on the floor of a farm truck. I had a plain jane slab sided colt A1 that I used just for that.

I wouldnt waste my money on that. As stated above, they sound beaten up mix-matched from hell. I would save a few more bucks and buy an entry level Rock River or a used Colt and not have to worry about it. I love my DSA, though I paid alittle over 3 times what they are selling those for, I wouldnt hesitate to do it again.

If you only want them for a plinking rifle or just something to protect your land great, that would be about the extent of their use to me.
I bought a S&W MP4 AR15 earlier this year and love it, heck I just put a flip down front sight on it and floating handguards. Now just need to get a bipod an I will be ready for some varmint hunting.
