I have a customer that wants to go a 17/18 or 18/19 combo. I'd like size specs for a 2005 that will be lowered 1.5" in the future.

I have to order rims sight unseen and only have one shot to get the right size and offset.

Thanks for your help. I need conservative sizing with a definite size difference in look from front to rear.

He didn't blink when we quoted him $5k in Asanties. Help!

Without cutting the fender, and with the car lowered, the widest wheel you'll probably be able to get is 8 or 8.5" with a 245 tire. I wouldn't even try 19"s.

OEM size is 8" with a +48mm offset. In the rear, you've got a few mm to play with on the inside, but not much on the outside because of the fender lip. In the front, you've got virtually no room on the inside before you hit the strut, and plenty of room on the outside.

Thanks for your reply bro.

Who has a GTO lowered 1.5 and aftermarket wheels/tires without rub issues. This guy is out for looks not performance. 17/18?

For payback for the help, I'll try to get him to drop it off and I'll take some pics. ;)

Search in the suspension section for "1.5 drop" and see if anything comes up. I don't recall anybody doing that off the top of my head.

I could convince him to go with a 1" if it meant better fitment.

Contact CCW, and get an 18/19 combo...
All CCWs that I have seen are 8in wide in the front and 10in wide in the rear. Fenders have to be cut/rolled when lowered tho. You can see if they will make a narrower wheel for the back so that it would be easier to lower.

Heres some pics with 18x8 and 19x10 and lowered 1-1.25in http://ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182907&highlight=oh4gto

CCW = Complete Custom Wheel.

If you have to have the perfect offset (which you will if he wants it lowered and on 19"s) then that's the place to go.
