Search for Mickey Thompson drag radials and either Weld, Holeshot, or Bogart wheels.

I don't see any mods listed in your sig, so you could even use Nitto 555r drag radials on stock 17" rims in a 275x40x17 configuration.

Yes, it will help. They work best after they get warmed up. They wont hook up like Mickey Thompsons but there are no fitment issues to deal with and they are not too bad in the rain. I have been running Nitto 555s on my last 3 cars and will probably buy them again in spring.

I run a 275/40/17. I get a little rub every now & then but not everyone does.

I run 275/40/17 hoosier Drag radials and couldn't be happier, compared to the 555R's the Hoosier are 100% better

Maybe I should look into a pair for next year. Are they scary in rain? I somehow end up in it every once in a while despite my best effort not to.

Those are a good set of rubber right there. I ran a 255/50/16 on a salad shooter. When they were finished I upgraded to a 27/10.5/16 ET Street. Much different tire, but hooks hard.

There is no tread pattern on the hoosier so to say scary in the rain would be an understatment. I wouldn't run these on the streets for anymore than a few miles, they get chewed up quick by rock and whatever else can be found on the road. These are pretty much a drag on DOT Drag Radial. VERY SOFT

Depends if you want to go with 17" or 15" Wheels

With your stock 17's and stock Spare Rim, you'd just need to buy another Spare Rim, plus choice of tires to go with that set-up

There are various types of light weight 15" wheels to consider, if you want to pay for a full set of wheels and tires.

End result is how much you want to spend; what type of look you want; how often you intend to visit the Drag Strip, or just for street purposes.
