View Full Version : Tires on one side wearing faster than the other

I got a weird one.
Does anyone know why tires on the driver side would wear faster than the ones on the passenger side?
It is wearing evenly on the tire itself, but both left tires are 50% of the right tires.

since the tires are wearing evenly themselves, its not alignment...i could be one or more of the following
-too many donuts to the left (although this would be more likely with a posi unit, not a LSD)
-low tire pressure
-extremely heavy driver (likely too big to even fit in the car)
-springs or struts/shocks are shot on the driver side
-lots and lots of clover leaf onramp merging at high speeds
there could be more, but nothing else I can thing of
my guess would be tire pressure mixed with on ramp speed

No I've been babying the car a little lately.
-low tire pressure
The are set to 32 all the way around
-extremely heavy driver (likely too big to even fit in the car)
I'm only 160lbs
-springs or struts/shocks are shot on the driver side
Possible, I'm taking it in today for struct problems. I had a rear end sag a few months ago, they fixed it by changing the rear shocks. The springs could also be bad.

I love those, but I get to do that maybe once a week. But wait the ones I go on are all right hand turns, that would mean more wear on the right side.

high speed right turns = left tire wear.......due to the centrifugal forces and body roll/weight transfer to the outside of the turn (left)
