Greetings. I just noticed that somebody posted a comment stating that the old fender roller thread is dead. I am in need of rolling my fenders, so I have just decided to purchase my own roller. I'm looking at doing the same thing, renting the tool out for $40 bucks and when you finish using it, you can just pass it along to the next user. Is there anybody still interested in renting the tool?

Try This.. Get a Good Hard BaseBall Bat and Let somebody hold it between the fender and tire and then drive the car over it a few times... It works just fine and its free...

Should it be a wood bat or aluminum? My pops told me that this is how he use to roll fenders back in the day, but I thought he was joking...

Are you serious?? I think I would have a hard time doing this to my 30K GTO. I have seen crazier things though.

Tom's2005GTO already has a fender roller for rent. I don't know how to show the thread, but if you search "Now Renting Fender Rolling Kit" it comes right up. Very few on the waiting list, too!

To me it was saver to use the bat then the fender roller... I pressed that bat down as hard as I could and Didn't damage anything but the Fender part which I planned to do.. Now I can Put on Mickey Et streets without any Strubing...

One of the dangers of fender rolling is the paint cracking isn't it? Do you still use the heat gun when using the bat?

Naw I didn't but I'm sure you can use it.. The Paint will Crank but its only the paint on the fender part that you can't see unless you take the tire off.... If I can do it with Success then anyone can....

What's the deal with this ... because I'm going to be in need of one soon. I posted in the other thread as well, but I'm not too sure if it will get a reply. Please let me know as soon as possible.

LOL.. thats how we do it here. Seems to work better and come out 10 times better. We use a wooden bat though wrapped on duck tape so its smooth.

thanks,

Can someone take a pic of how to do this?
My 235/35/19's are rubbing on the rear. It is actually cutting my brand new tires. I even got the rims shaved to get the correct offset, and am running a skinny a$$ tire and it is still rubbing :bomb:

VQ--Show me how you do it.

You bolt it up to the hub, position the roller so the wheel is pressing on your fender's lip in an angle, heat up the crease to ungodly temperatures, then start muscling the roller back and forth and the lip will start to bend upward. Reposition the roller's wheel to bend it in a steeper angle, then repeat. It takes only 30-60 minutes to finish both sides.
