Cartridge is a little light if you want it for a shooter, but hell I have a Walther PPK in .32.

If it's never been fired buy it and DO NOT fire it. Worth more unfired in original packaging. Do the search for it's value unfired and decide if your Uncle is asking a reasonable price for it. It won't lose value, believe me.

HAHA

Think of it this way. When you go to shoot it, you don't have to worry about the gun weighing twice as much with the first round chambered as it does when the last round it chambered.

Big problem on my XD. once those 12rds of .45 get emptied the gun weighs nothing on the 13th and the balance is a lot worse.

Common problem on hi-cap plastic pistols

everything is metal except the grip which is wood. i think even the bottom part of the mag is metal. I love the high capacity mag in this little gun tho....

by the way. this would be my FIRST hand gun.

i was going for the clock 30 for my carry weapon ( which might still be the case eventually) and the S&W 500 long barrel for the scare the shit out of anyone weapon :)

it weighs 1 pound 7 ounces empty and
1 lb 11 oz full.
is that the heavy for a gun? i honestly don't know. i'm a good shot but don't know a single thing about guns.

Seems like average weights to me. My 1911 Kimber weighs 2.4 pounds empty. I personally would never buy a 9mm, but at least the ammo will be cheap as hell.

why tho. because of stopping power? i mean. yeah everyone says that but i have 13 more rounds if the first one doesn't work lol

a desert eagle is a heavy pistol, and keeps it value, + 1 on not firing it

Save your money.

Guns should be as emotional a purchase as cars. If it doesn't do it for you, then why bother?

I can't pick out a single favorite rifle I own. I build all my own stuff and they each fit an exact desire or want.

Ok, I'm done.

Epitaph:

Here lies good ol' Jamesbiz,
He carried a .380 that was a whiz,
He put all his faith in the extra thirteen,
Alas, he died with them still in the magazine.

Seriously, almost any Browning is a quality weapon and will hold it's value. However, I would agree with those that think the .380 is less than optimum for a self defense weapon. Carrying a .380 as your primary weapon is sorta like doing the washer mod to the GTO exhaust...it will make a satisfying noise, but.....

lol i'm a pretty good shot. trust me my first hot ill count. Oh and i know that it's different under pressure but i've also had training for that as all. 1 shot in the head 2 in the chest in a second will get the guy on the ground. Oh and when you ARE under pressure you normally pull the trigger more then once

yeah but still, you unload a mag of .380 into a crack head, you'll just upset him.

Hit him with a .45 and he'll stay down!

That is a very nice Gun....
I picked the Colt just because it was a little smaller and lighter.

I agree with most, a .380 for self defense is best left to back up duty. Do a little research on the caliber and you will find penetration is not very good, even full blown hot 9MM loads don't do well on drug crazed nut cases!! It takes a caliber with enough energy to put someone down when the time comes to use it.

That said, its a nice piece.....but in this day and age don't overestimate the fire power.

That gun is very similar to a beretta 84. I had one for many years. It was a neat looking gun but the slide would welt the web of my thumb on recoil, and was extremely heavy for a 380. It was also VERY finicky on ammo, as in bullet shape for proper feeding. I have a Bersa Thunder .45 that fits about the same size, weight, and purpose, with a lot more firepower and accuracy.

In 380, I would take a PPK or Keltec. If I wanted .380.
