i want to have a set of wheels made for my car do you think a 18x8 at 40mm offset in the front with a 245/40/18 and a 18x9 with a 53mm offset with a 285/35/18 in the rear would work thanks

you dont think 45s in the front would bring the wheel in to much?

I wouldn't think so. The stock wheel offset is +48mm, so if you're talking about using the same size tire (245) on the same width wheel (8"), then switching to a +45mm offset would actually push the wheel / tire combo outboard by 3mm, or .118", or a little less than an eighth of an inch.
This would be just about right, as the stock +48 offset with stock tire can rub the strut tower base. This rubbing can get worse if you replace with different brand / model tire. That extra eighth gives you a little buffer to be able to use different brand tire.
Good Luck with it!
